Few popular platforms of the '80s had more iterations than Atari's 8-bit line of computers. The ones that made it market were the Atari 400, 800, 1200XL, 600XL, 800XL, 65XE, 130XE, and XE/GS (XE/Game System). In many respects superior to the Commodore 64 (more colors, faster processor), the platform eventually fell to the C-64's dominance...and rampant piracy. It was a sad day, indeed, when that happened. (The bugs in the 800XL didn't help, either!)
