Korn/Rob Zombie Tour

Hit Parader called it the tour of the year, I agree with them. The opening band was VideoDrone, a band that sounded much like Korn, but leaned towards white rap a bit more. They all were wearing red jumpsuits, and they looked like they were having the most fun they ever had. My favorite part of the show was when Fieldy came out and helped them with the singing. I met the drummer after the show, and as it turns out, they all grew up with Jonathan Davis! Unfortunately, he didn't want to comment about what Davis was like.

By the time Rob Zombie got on stage, we were all ready for him. Rob played all the hit songs from his new album, including Living Dead Girl, Dragula, and Meet the Creeper. During the chorus of his songs, he'd have pyrotechnics, which really got the crowd excited. And how can I forget the two dancers wearing tight, skimpy outfits. Too bad they didn't show anything. Rob also brought out special effects like a giant dancing "robot", and the AstroCreep! At one point he told us all to pretend we're in a small club, packed in tightly (which wasn't too far from the truth), while he played my favorite Zombie song of the concert, More Human Than Human. The crowd loved it!

After another half hour wait, we heard a voice announce the presence of Korn, and the place went berzerk. Korn opened up with Blind, and I really can't remember the order of the songs after that, but I do know which songs they played.

While Korn was playing, the crowd was screaming along, moshing, body-surfing, and many girls decided to go topless! One of my favorite songs that they played was Twist. The songs takes on a whole new meaning when heard live. What that is, I have no idea, but I loved it! Just before ADIDAS, Jonathan screamed out, "How many people in Chicago love to fuck!!" Of course, everyone screamed as loud as they could (which wasn't very loud because we were losing our voices by that time)! When Shoots And Ladders came around, Davis pulled out the bagpipes, and that was a very memorable moment, the entire place went silent, some in awe, some in bewilderment. After a long time, Korn took off the instruments and left the stage. Everyone began screaming, "Korn! Korn! Korn!" and they came back out to play a few more songs, ending with My Gift to YouL. When they went back inside, we didn't want it to end. The lighters were held high, and the chanting began. "More Korn! More Korn! More Korn!" Davis came out and yelled, "There are some crazy mother fuckers in Chicago!" and everyone began jumping and screaming. Davis went to the drums and began playing while the rest of the band came out to play. Except the bassist from VideoDrone took Fieldy's place. Then Fieldy came out and began singing Earache My Eye. Korn was definetly the highlight of the night. After the song ended, the curtains closed, and the announcer wished us all a good night. We all knew the show was, sadly, over.

That wasn't all the concert had to offer though, in between shows, we all had a little peep show. Just two seats away from me, there were to lesbians, dancing and groping each other. One of my favorite parts of the show. After a little while, another one of their female friends joined in the action. I think I'll be able to remember one of the girls for my whole life. She was wearing this little blue dress that left little to the imagination (oh yeah, she was wearing black panties with smiley faces on them). At one point they stopped and that's when I actually looked around, for that entire side of the audience and half the mosh pit was staring, waiting to see a little indecent exposure. Not soon after they sat down, we all started chanting, "Show your tits! Show your tits! Show your tits!" Then we got a little encore show just as Rob Zombie came on stage. That will be a night I'll remember forever!
