Many years ago Karemkutac was a very active follower of Chemosh and one of
the most bloodthirsty of assassins.  He would actually find joy and pride in
watching the dying looks of his victims as he sent them on to his master.
Then one night, his last night as the Messenger of Death, he was sent to
kill a priest, a priest of Paladine.  Just as he was feet away from his
objective, the priest whirled around, and cast some type of spell upon him.
This spell was not a spell to kill or to harm, but a spell of revelation.
Karem was set upon by visions of all of his victims, each ones death in a
harsh reality.  Then he was set upon by visions of the evil deeds of others,
the deeds were each more and more devastating.  It seemed like an eternity of
endless deaths and torture, of grief and despair.  Then when it was over
Karem was upon his knees, before what was supposed to of been his next
victim, convulsing in sobs.
The priest looked down upon him and said only a few words:
"You can help change this, or you can continue to be a part of this evil."
And that is what Karemkutac swore he would do.  He donned the colors of
Paladine, and was sworn to do whatever he could do to bring to right all he
had done, and also to try to fix the evils of others.
Though no longer the follower of Chemosh, when in battle Karem's face will
still take on the icy, emotionless killing look of before.  But the kills no
longer bring him joy, more of sadness, but also peace.  As though each evil
fiend that he slew would bring him closer to a clear conscience.
