Juicy titbits about Capcom's up and coming blockbuster Capcom vs. SNK 2 are coming thick and fast. So fast I can't keep up, even. Madman's Cafe has confirmed the existance of several hidden characters:

• Eagle (Street Fighter 1)
• Rolento (Final Fight / SF Alpha)
• Chang Kohan & Choi Bonge (KOF)
• Rock Howard (Garou)
• Hibiki Takane (Last Blade 2)

Madman's Cafe now have a preview here, with lots of cool screenshots. They also mention the game will appear on Sega Dreamcast as well as arcade and PlayStation 2.

A preview has popped up at Cloudchaser, with some interesting info on the six different Grooves. Thanks to Madman's Cafe and VariantX for the link. Higher Voltage has scans of an ad for the PlayStation 2 version, with sceenshots of hidden fighters Chang & Choi, Hibiki and Eagle, as well as the SFIII:3S version of Chun Li.

And lastly, Madman's Cafe has translated a new Japanese article by Chuliper. There are a few glarey screenshots for those who can't get enough, a list of cameo background appearances and some notes on how the fighters play.

Capcom vs. SNK 2 E3 report at Shoryuken.com

James Chen was at E3, and his Capcom vs. SNK 2 Beta preview has been posted at Shoryuken.com. He was, like many of you will be, very enthusiastic about the return of the six button format, and seemed very positive in general. Read it all here and check out the lovely screenshots here.

A quick summary of the beta, from James's report:

• Six buttons
• Two Grooves, with four more unlockable
• Characters are available in any Ratio
• Sounds like 3D backgrounds are in
• New fighters:
  • Yun (SFIII)

  • Maki (Final Fight II SNES)
  • Athena (KOF)
  • Todo (Art of Fighting)
  • Haohmaru (Samurai Shodown)

CvsSNK 2 and SSFII:TR at E3 2001

Capcom USA has put up an E3 2001 section on its website, detailing the games they will be showing at the convention. Among them are a PlayStation 2 port of the upcoming arcade release Capcom vs. SNK 2: Mark of the Millenium and Street Fighter II: Turbo Revival for the Gameboy Advance. Both games have new (possibly westernised) subtitles. They also provide a movie for SSFII:TR.

Super Puzzle Fighter II X for DreamCast

Capcom is planning to release Super Puzzle Fighter IIX for Matching Service for Dreamcast in Japan this July, the classic Street Fighter puzzle game with network support. Similar to other Capcom Matching Service titles, this game will be sold for 3800 yen at Sega's D-Direct online store.

Capcom vs. SNK PRO limited edition announced

Capcom has announced to release a limited edition set of their upcoming Dreamcast version of "Capcom vs SNK PRO".

Reservable only through Dreamcast-Direct, the limited edition comes with an original wrist band and Sports towel of the game.

The Limited edition of "Capcom vs SNK PRO" is scheduled for release simultaneously with the normal version on 6/14, priced 1000 Yen higher at 4,800 Yen.
