Break Through!

"Laike!", happily blasts Alex as tears well up from his eyes.

"Yes, Alex, it is me. And do WE have a situation on our hands."

"Yeah..."

"Couldn't be worse than what's going on outside." sharply speaks Kyle, who doesn't look at all interested, "And you, frog-boy, what is your story?"

"I am the 8th in my heritage from a long line of being accursed to this guise of a frog.", becoming misty-eyed, thinking of his condition, "Four-hundred years ago, my ancestor was cursed with the form of a frog. The devil Magus bringeth upon him for trying to slay him." Now he raises his head up high, "That demon hath returned to retake my kingdom of Guardia. I must uphold my lineage and obligation and put and end to such injustice.", lowers his head now in despair, "Nay, 'tis nery a thing I can do."

"Do not worry, frog, if this plan works we will restore this altered existence and rid Magus and Ghaleon permanently.", confidently boasts Laike as he unsheaths his sword, "Follow me out of here." Laike turns and begins to lead them out of this imprisonment. The group follows while frog remains last for backup.

"This way."

"....I think not!"

"What?"

A blast of white light explodes from the very darkness that they were running into. It passes them and explodes on the wall behind them, incinerating the chains that they were locked to not but a few minutes ago.

"You shall not escape the confines of this castle." Speaks an angered Magus as he readies another projectile, this time not trying to miss target.

"I thinketh not." as frog leaps ahead of the group and raises his shield to deflect the potential attack. The spell flies through the air, cutting its moldy, musty essence. It hits the shield with enormous impact, shattering the shield and sending frog backwards through the crowd, tumbling and rolling along the damp floor.

Alex and Kyle ready their swords and run at Magus as he prepares a third strike. Nash and Mia begin executing their own black mage spells with which to counter. Jessica rushes back to frog to heal his scathed amphibian flesh.

"Thank you, milady." responds frog as he feels the warming sensation of her spells healing his cuts and bruises.

"Ahh, you bastard...", screams Kyle as he takes a swing at Magus. He connects with an invisible shield around Magus, as does Alex. The sudden shock impulses through their hands with pain, making them almost drop their swords.

"Fire...."

"Bolt...."

The spells hit the invisible shield and reflect off, hitting random targets of wall and ground, inadvertently just missing Kyle and Laike, as he is beginning to remove something from his pocket.

Magus watches in playful glee as he sees their spells stop inches before his face and then make an abrupt turn. But his content changes as he starts to become curious as to what Laike draws from his person.

Laike uncovers a seal covered in white dragon scales. It has a radiant glow of pure white. Now as Magus's attention becomes fully diverted, he sees the potential danger of it, even though he does not know what it is, and starts a powerful chant. At the same time Laike runs into the middle of the group and holds the object above his head.

"Never...will you destroy what I have created..." Magus blows out as he prepares another Luminaire of darkness. That same blue sphere starts to enlarge from Magus's hands. However, a white sphere is starting to consume the party as well, its origin from the seal that Laike holds. Now the group is totally covered in the white aura, just as the blue sphere completes its swelling.

"Luminaire of Darkness!!"

As Magus screams it out, the party fades from sight, narrowly avoiding the initial impact from his spell.

The group reappears above the planet. As they look down they see a thumbnail-sized castle become engulfed in a blue glow. After this they take off into space.

START MUSIC

"Whew. That was close. I didn't think we would beat that spell." Says Nash, sweating with relief, "Now, Laike, you mind explaining the rest of your story, since I think we are all a little confused."

"Certainly. This seal I hold here was given to me by the goddess herself. It was created using Quark's scales and magical powers of transportation, with a little touch of Althena's magic." Its glow begins to fade, "The only thing is it was good for 2 trips."

"I see.....once to rescue us, and then a second time to bring us to our present location." proudly admits Mia.

"Very good, Mia, that is precisely what. And once we arrive back on Lunar, it will disintegrate."

"So that's what you pulled from your pocket." Kyle says outloud, happy for himself for such mental cunning.

Jess looks at him and can't help wonder how much of their prison time affected him.

"Now, once we land back on Lunar, we must head straight for Meribia. The Grindery should be there, as will Ghaleon."

"And once thy enemy is slain, mine enemy must be dealt with in the same.", speaks frog as he holds the Masamune proudly in his hand.

"Frog here has agreed to help us in our quest, if in return we do the same for him. The only problem is, once all this is said and done, everything that has happened will cease to exist."

"Huh.........?", Kyle seems to fail to grasp what's going on.

"Well, let me start over again," Laike sitting down, ready to tell a tale that sounds too made up to believe.

"The Goddess appeared to me in a vision a few days ago. She told me of her losing battle to Ghaleon and this would be her last message before her conscience would completely succumb. She created the Seal of Althena and was to be used only twice. And you already figured out those two times, Mia."

She smiles in glee.

"Anyway, I used them and before I knew it, was traveling through space. I found myself landed at a new planet where frog helped me once I spoke of my plight. He led me here, and here we are."

The whole group, except frog, is shocked at how Ghaleon could have become so powerful. They have a look on their faces of utter grief at their goddess's situation, as well as theirs.

"Worry thyself not milady. Thou shalt exact justice and all will return normal." frog quotes.

As their capsule speeds toward its destination, Laike finishes his story of the whole time traveling situation and how it is only temporary if the evil of its origin is destroyed. They all agree and understand. Now they begin to huddle and discuss their battle plan once they arrive back on Lunar.
