Tyranid Sustigant

Tyranid Skull
The Sustigant is a special mutation of the standard Termagant genus, which has apparently been evolved specifically to counter the support weapons and equipment used by the Imperial, Ork and Eldar armies in this galaxy. The creature resembles a somewhat overgrown Termagant, though it's two forward arms have been replaced by the firing bio-mechanism of it's primary weapon, a devastating weapon known to Imperial troops as the Deathtoll Cannon. This semisymbiote-weapon is directly linked to the internal systems of the Sustigant, giving the creature greater control over it's function.

Sustigants have only appeared in very recent battles with the Tyranid swarms, which led to the conclusion that they were the Tyranid answer to weapons such as the Imperial Tarantula and the Eldar grav platforms. The Sustigant's unique control over it's supporting weaponry allows it greater mobilty than the aforementioned weapons platforms, which gives it a greater edge in combat.

This combination of crew, weapon and support structure into a single living organism serves to ensure that all of the pieces work together in a way not possible in more conventional support weapons.

Deathtoll Cannon

The Deathtoll cannon is a larger, more powerful evolution of the Deathspitter. It consists of a pair of firing colons and nozzles linked to a single brood chamber. The arming orafice has been improved to become remarkably more efficient in it's task as well. This, combined with the twin firing colons, has the effect of dramatically increasing the weapon's rate of fire.

If the Deathtoll Cannon scores a hit on an enemy model then other models nearby may be hit. Roll a D6 for any models within 1" of the model hit by the Deathtoll Cannon. On a roll of 4, 5 or 6 they are splattered and suffer a S3 hit with no saving throw modifier. Note that the Deathtoll Cannon doesn't have to wound the target before you check for splatter, only a hit is necessary.
