The Mega Man series has always been great, but after Mega Man 3 it seems like the people at Capcom started to lose their imagination. Mega Man 6 is not as good as the first three Mega Man games but it's better than 4 and 5
The premise of this game is that there is a fighting tournament for robots being held. The sponsor of the tournament, Mr.X(how original) takes over the robots and starts using them for world domination. But if you've played any of the previous Megaman games, you know that Wily is behind all this.
One of the biggest changes of this game is that Rush the robodog's role has totally changed. Instead of transforming into jets and stuff he transforms into a suit that Mega Man can use. The first transformation is the power rush adaptor, this gives Mega man a punch to break ceratain blocks. The second transformation is the Rush jet adaptor. This turns Rush into a jet pack for Mega man, it's a lot of fun to use.
At the beginning of the game, you fight the basic eight robots, some of the robots are kind of unoriginal though. Flame man wears a turban and has an arm cannon that shoots fire. Blizzard man is a big bulky robot that wears skis. Plant man's head has flower petals growing around it. Tomahawk man is your basic indian sterotype, headress and all. Yamato Man looks kind of like a Samurai and totes a spear. Knight man looks well...like a knight! Cenataur man is one of the more original robots, he has four legs. And Wind man looks like a modified air man, except he has fans on his shoulders and not on his mouth.
After you fight the bosses, you go to Mr X's castle, then you go to the basic Wily Skull Castle.
Also, Protoman only makes one appearance in this game, he appears in a secret passage in Tomahawk man's stage and gives you an item that helps restore weapon energy.
A big downfall of this game is that it's too easy! I beat the game the day I got it! This can be attributed to the abundance of energy tanks and extra lives.
