Bow; bow your
head to the lord of all gods, the king of kings, the innovator of the modern
video game in our lovely North American lives. Super Mario Bros. revolutionized
the way we look at console games and for that it deserves praise. When
this bad boy was released, the world bit it hook line and sinker. Nothing
like it had ever been seen before and most likely never will. How could
any other game have the kind of impact that this classic had? What kind
of a game could even possibly come close to the aura and feel that SMB
brought. Nothing in my mind could. It is one of Nintendo's top four highest
sellers for the 8-bit system. I'm not a very experienced game critic and
many of you may not like what I say anyway. There is one thing that I do
know about criticizing games: don't ever knock the father. I won't rank
SMB's music or play because I feel that this game is beyond that. It is
an old war horse that has survived many a battle. It deserve respect and
I won't be one to deprive the god any. To make it easier for some to understand,
I'll make an analogy. Criticizing Super Mario Bros. and saying the music
is a about a 7 or 8 on the scale would be like saying "Jesus Christ was
a good guy and all but I don't like the efficiency of his healing methods."
So in closing, as I listen to the calliope style music of SMB, I say thank
you. Thank you Super Mario Brothers. You are the Brahman of all video games.
