Hints and Tips of Warez surfing...

Hey there! This page will teach you about how to get what you want, when you want it-from a Warez site. Lets go shall we?

Pop-ups

'AAAAARRGGHHH!' you scream, as you are covered in pop-up windows. 'SCURK!' goes the browser and crashes. How do you stop these annoyances? Easy. Get a new browser. Neoplanet is great for this as you have the option to put a pop-up warner on. When ever a pop-up occurs, it will ask for your permission to open it. Unfortunately-its not perfected. You have to say wether or not it can open a new window when you click 'open new browser window'. But apart from that its great.

Status bar hiding, control button hiding etc

Sometimes you'll notice that your little part down the bottom telling you what the browser is doing, isn't there anymore. This is a Java thing. You can also have your control buttons [back, forward, home] taken away. One site I had an experience with, was that whenever I went to change the address, if I approached the address box from below, it would say 'Do you want to make this site your home page?'. I worked out, that I would have to go around the address box, and do it from the top. There is a way around this all together. Turn off everything Java using your Internet options. It'll make life easier. When you've finished your Warez surfing, just turn them back on.

Run around links to nowhere

You may sometimes find yourself running in circles. Always, always, always-check where your are going first. As before-people can cover where your going next. They can shove those little messages that scroll along the bottom in, they can put a few words there, or hide it all together using radio buttons. To get around coverage read on...

Have you noticed-when you click a link and hold down-you see where the link will take you. Don't wanna go there? Hold the mouse button down, then if it has t69, t50, t25, t35, t100, or something like that in the address-drag the arrow to the top of the browser until a little 'no way' kinda symbol appears. A circle with a slash through it. Then let go-voila! You've seen where you could have been taken.

Another way is flicking. If you flick across the link fast enough you'll catch the address. Sometimes this won't work, and nothing will change. That's when you use the click and hold method. Click and hold will work most of the time. If all else fails-leave. It isn't all that great a site if you can't get what you want.

'Vote for me! Vote for me!' and 'Click here or files will be corrupt'

Voting. Voting, voting, voting. If you've ever been to a Warez site, you'll have probably seen those stupid voting things. 'Please vote for me...'. Warez sites need sponsors. Sponsors give them money. They use money on their servers. It's all about voting. Neoplanet can stop voting windows appearing. Sometimes to enter a site you will need to click a sponsor. That's not too bad-but forcing it upon you is. Thing is-when you do get into the site-they usually have crap stuff. Some sites only have 3 games. Woo. Voting. If you must-do. If you don't have to-don't. Look at me-I don't need a sponsor! I'm fine as it is-sure-I'm using a Geocities account. So what? Its free, and I'm quite happy.

'Click here or files will be corrupt'. What a load of crap. Some stupid idiots must click those things everytime they see them, just cause they think its true. Webmasters cannot corrupt files, causing them to uncorrupt when you click somewhere. There is no way you can do that-not even with Java or some crap like that. Never click there. Always get what YOU want, without being forced into anything. If they want votes, and you want to vote-then vote. But 'Click...corrupt' is just stupid. They get about 10c a click for that. If about 500 stupid people do that a day-imagine how much they are making.

Full screen windows

Ive encountered something lately. Sometimes when your'e wandering about you'll get a huge window, and won't know how to close it, so you ctrl alt delete and close your browser altogether. All you have to do is Alt F4. It closes the active window or application! As soon as a huge window pops up in front of you-Alt F4! Wonderful little thing that...

A couple of things Webmasters could learn

To all Webmasters and wanna be masters-read this-it is important:

Why insist on using Freedrive, or Nettaxi, or services like that to store games and apps? Sure-they are free, they are good for storage...but look. they DO care about what you put on your site. Nettaxi immediately take down anything to do with Warez or storage. Geocities-they don't care! They are letting me host this site, and how many times have i typed 'Warez'? So many the 'Bad word counter' would probably explode! Use Geocities-its free, you get 11mb, and its fast to upload. Stop using XOOM, Nettaxi, or Freedrive-they will only end up in broken links, and very annoyed people.

Porn, porn, porn, porn. It's not what i want, i don't care who your sponsor is. One site-wave your mouse over a porn banner and 30 Babylon-X, and Call-girls sites pop-up from nowhere! YOU DON'T NEED THAT MANY! One of each would suffice, but oohhh, nooo.

As the Webmaster says 'I need hits. Visiting is just not enough. I need you to sign-up there. Please do this for me as i need money to keep this server going etc etc etc'.

I don't want to hear your guilt trip story. I don't wanna sign up so i won't and you can't make me! Thats what i always think. These pop-ups are different to Geocities ones, as you can't leave one open and the others will stop coming cause ones open. It won't work that way. Once again-use Neoplanet.

Remember-don't be a lamer, don't leech files people don't want you to leech, don't let people leech files you don't want them to, eat healthy, stay fit, don't walk across highways blindfolded, dont do drugs, drink in moderation, don't smoke too much, don't fart in front of your date, don't fart in front of your date and make a joke about it, don't hurt yourself, don't do anything painful, drink plenty of water, don't drive too fast, stay politically aware, don't get involved in fights, don't use the computer for too long, sit up straight, don't lurch, stay clean, have regular showers, take care of pets, eat vegetables, don't eat dirt, wear sunscreen, don't read beauty magazines-they'll only make you feel ugly, dont stand too close to flames, don't get angry-get even, don't try too hard, read books, write poetry, study the arts, make a film, write a screenplay for one, write a song, dance, exercise, love your parents, don't deny your friends, don't lie, don't cheat, don't steal, don't fuse a pipe bomb with a welder, don't pickup those little orange explosives on train tracks, stay out of trouble, don't spit in public, dont put bubble gum on theatre seats, listen to teachers, do your work, don't hurt people's feelings, don't listen to your music too loud, don't make too much noise, go outside, breath the fresh air, don't carry weapons, practice safe sex, don't punch the monitor, don't sit around all day, watch where you walk, watch where your driving, dont burp in front of your girlfriends parents, if at first you don't succeed keep trying, if at first you DO succeed try not to look too astonished and remember...always remember...
