Story#1-
The Taming of the Sandshrew, by: Moltres hates beer
Lance, 11 years old, was looking forward to his future as a pokémon trainer. He left his home in
Fuchsia City to buy some pokéballs at the Fuchsia Poké Mart, but he didn't have enough for two,
so he bought only one. He left the poké mart when he saw his rival Bruno there.
"Hey Lance! I'm definately going to be a better trainer than you will be!" Bruno said.
"Oh yeah!" replied Lance, "I'll show you!"
Lance was motioning towards the exit to town, but Bruno stopped him. "You can't pass
through here!" he said, with a threatening tone in his voice.
"Sure I can!" Lance said confidently. Lance motioned towards the right, Bruno went
to stop him there when Lance ran to the left, and out of town.
"I'll get you!" Bruno yelled, but Lance ignored him.
Lance was running as fast as he could, when he then saw a pokémon. He pointed his
pokédex at it, then it said <>
Lance walked closer to the pokémon, not trying yo scare it. When he was closer to it,
he recognized it, it was a SANDSHREW!
Lance realized that he didn't have much of a chance of catching the sandshrew, so he
threw a rock at it.
"Groooooowww!!!!!!" the sandshrew said, then started running away.
Lance took out a pokéball and threw it, "Pokéball, GO!" he said.
The pokéball bounced off a tree, then it bounced off a rock, hit the ground, rolled along,
rolled down a hill and touched the sandshrew. <>. The sandshrew got sucked into
the pokéball. The button on the pokéball turned red and it started shaking. It shook left,
it shook right, it was shaking left then it shook right then it started rolling down the hill towards
a tree. Then, all of a sudden, the button turned white again with a <>.
"All right!!!!!!" Lance yelled, managing to get six "!"s into it. "I caught sandshrew!"
Lance looked sandshrew up in his pokédex again, <>.
Lance thought for a moment, then he looked up "PIDGEY" in his pokédex: <>
Lance walked along in the park, singing joyfully. Then, a star-shaped pokémon with a jewel in
the middle of it came out of the water. "Hoyaa!" the star pokémon said. "What is that?" Lance said. Then, the star pokémon
spouted water at him. "Oh, a water pokémon!" Lance said.
He pulled out his pokéball and threw it. "Sandshrew, GO!" he said.
The pokéball hit the ground and Lance's sandshrew came out. "Sandshrew, burrow underground!"
Lance said. His sandshrew burrowed underground and the star-shaped pokémon tried to follow it,
but it was too big. "Sandshrew, Come out and tackle it!" Lance said. Lance's sandshrew jumped out of
the ground and tackled the star pokémon. The jewel in the center of the pokémon smashed and the
pokémon went back into the water.
"We did it sandshrew!" Lance said. "Hey, wait, we need a name for you, how about Sandy?"
"Gwoooo!" the sandshrew replied, shaking his head.
"Shrew?" Lance asked.
"Gwoooo!" the sandshrew replied, shaking his head again.
"Silvershrew?" Lance asked.
"Gweeesssss!" the sandshrew replied.
"Okay, your new name is Silvershrew!" Lance said.
Lance pulled out his pokédex to find out what the star pokémon was.<>
"So that's it! a Staryu!" Lance said.
Lance decided he should continue to advance to the next city.
"The first gym I can get to to have a fight is Pewter City, okay, I'll go with Silvershrew!
But Silvershrew can't do well against rock pokémon, oh well, we can beat 'em!" Lance cried out.
"Gyoouugo!" Silvershrew said, ready to defeat Brock, Pewter City gym leader.
Then Lance saw a trainer coming along. A teenage female pokémon trainer. "Hey, who are you?" The trainer called out,
"You're in my way, I'm off to Fuchsia."
"Me, I'm Lance, from Fuchsia City. I want to become the greatest trainer in the WORLD!"
The trainer was walking towards the way Lance had come.
"Hey wait," Lance cried out, "Who are you?"
The trainer looked back and started to laugh, "Ha ha ha, how can someone NOT know me? I'm Agatha from Lavender town.
I was born in pokémon tower, I learned to lose fear in an instant." (Agatha started walking back) "You... Loserlot, do you
want a pokémon battle?"
Lance picked Silvershrew off the ground and said "Of course we're ready!"
Agatha sent out HAUNTER, "Go haunter!"
Lance sent out Silvershrew, "Go Silvershrew!"
"Haunter, NIGHT SHADE!" Agatha's haunter cringed up it's face, then the sky turned black and a bolt came down for
Silvershrew.
"Silver, look behind you!" Silvershrew dodged out of the way.
"Haunter, HYPNOSIS!" Agatha's haunter moved his hands in a wierd motion.
"Silver, Shield!" Lance cried out. The hypnosis bounced off Silvershrew and headed towards haunter. "Haunter, haunter
haunt... haunt... haun...ter...˛˛˛˛˛˛˛˛˛˛˛˛˛˛˛˛..." Haunter said, falling asleep.
"Silvereshrew, tackle!" Lance's sandshrew tried to tackle Agatha's haunter, but Silvershrew passed right through haunter!
"Gyooooo yoooo!" Silvershrew cried as he was about to fall in the water.
"Silver, defend against the water then spray it at the haunter!" Lance ordered.
Silvershrew curled up, rolled into the water, came out and twirled around so the water
hit the haunter.
The haunter woke up, then fell to the ground.
"Haunter, return!" Agatha cried out, having her pokéball in her hand.
Agatha pulled out another pokéball, "Go, EKANS!"
Agatha's ekans came out of the pokéball.
"Ekans, venum, now!"
The ekans tried to bite Silvershrew, but it missed.
"Silvershrew, tackle!"
Silvershrew tackled the ekans and it fell unconsious.
"Return, Ekans!" Agatha cried out, having her pokéball in her hand again.
"Okay, you won," Agatha said, "here is 2 500 Ľ."
"Cool, thanks!" Lance said.
Agatha and Lance went their seperate ways.
"Where is that path to Pewter City?" Lance wondered. Then he saw a sign that said: Cycling
Road near Fuchsia City is the best way to travel! don't have a bike? Then rent one for 250 Ľ at Fuchia city of Celedon City!
"Cool!" Lance said, "I'll rent a bike!"
Lance headed back to Fuchsia City. It was getting dark out. When he reached Fuchsia City,
It was almost night-time, so Lance went home to sleep.
* * *
At dawn, Lance left his house and went to the Poké Mart to buy more pokéballs.
"Hello sir, may I help you?" asked the cashier.
"I'd like some pokéballs, please, ...uh, 4."
"That'll be 800 Ľ please."
"Okay, here you go!"
Lance checked his wallet... 1 700 Ľ left. He left the Poké Mart and went to the bike
rental across the street.
"I'd like to rent a bike, please." he said.
"That's 250 Ľ"
"Okay here you are, sir! Oh, and here is a registration card for you. You're next rental will be cheaper, remember, bring it back!" Now Lance has 1 450 Ľ left.
Lance left with his bike to go to the Cycling Road. At the entrance ofiicer Jenny asked if Lance had a bike, so he showed the bike to her.
Lance got on the bike and went riding along until he saw a sign. It read: [Careful! Uphill slope!]
He then got on his bike and rode uphill.
