One of my favorite games is Warhammer Fantasy. It's a table top game that you play with minature figuers similar to those in Dungeons and Dragons. What you do is you buy models that make up your army. There are several different armies that one can choose from: Empire, Wood Elves, High Elves, Chaos, Orcs and Goblins, Undead, Skaven, Brettonia, Dwarves, Chaos Dwarves, Lizardmen, or Dark Elves. I happen to play the army of Chaos. We are the strongest hand-to-hand fighters in the game. We would be the best army in the game but we are not allowed to use archery. As for how to play, what you do is find someone to play against, then you agree on how many points the game will be. The average amount of points a game is, is about 1500pts. Although you could play as little or as much as you wish. After you decide how many points the game will be, then you must make up an army. You must have enough troops to fill in the amount of points that you chose, and only one-half may be spent on characters( your general, a hero, a champion, mages, special characters). And only characters are allowed to have magic items, except for magic banners. After you have made an army then you and your opponent roll a die. Whoevers roll was higher gets to chose who gets to set up first. You set up one unit 12 inches away from your side of the table, and 12 inches from the edges. Then the second person sets up one unit. And you do this until all of your units are set up. Then you decide whether you want 4, 5, or 6 tuns to play, since the more turns a game is the longer it goes on, I suggest that you start with 4 turns. After all of that then you start the game and try to kill the other persons units. There are alot more rules than what I have put here, so many I haven't learned them all and Iv'e been playing for one year. Below are some charts that are important to the game. Also there is some information about what the stats are and why they are important.
The troop and character charateristics are called their stats. We use abreviations for what they mean. Like for Movement we use a capital M, for Weapon Skill we use WS, Ballistic Skill is BS, Strength is S, Toughness is T, Wounds is W, Inititive is I, Attacks is A, and Leadership is Ld or LD. All of these are used for different reasons.
