Dwarves are a powerful and ancient race that happens to be an average of three and a half to four feet tall. They live through out the mountionus Old World, the Black Mountains, in extremely well built fortresses, some even thought to impenetrateable. Dwarves don't use magic, in fact they despise it. Instead they rely on pure strength and runes. Dwarven runes are concidered the best made runes in the Old World.They have quite a range on what they can do as well as how powerful they are. Other than runes, Dwarves rely on their mastered ability to make artillary. So good are their building skills that the Orcs stole the idea from their Bolt Throwers and Rock Lobbers from the Dwarves.
Here are some tips for Dwarf players. The Anvil of Doom is a good choice to use against any army that uses magic, especially High Elves, Chaos, and Undead. Dwarf Troll Slayers are a good choice for a hand-to-hand combat unit. Always a good choice for dwarves would be Dwarven Artillary. Their cannons and other war machines can be quite lethal. Some people that I have asked have said that it's a good thing for Dwarves to hide behind walls so that the enemy needs a 6 to hit you. I wouldn't suggest that all that much considering Dwarves are great hand-to-hand fighters. They may be slow but if you get enough of them and armour them well enough they should last until they get into hand-to-hand.
Here are some tips for defeating Dwarves. With most other armies I would suggest getting alot of archery. With Dwarves this might not be all that advantageous. They are usually heavily armoured or hiding behind walls, but still get some archery because it might do some good. That can be a pain since you need 6 to hit them. Also most Dwarf players bring the Anvil of Doom into battle which negates all magic. This can surprisingly hurt alot of armies such as Undead, High Elves and Chaos. Another thing to watch out for are the Dwarven cannons. I would suggest to get as many flying creatures into hand-to-hand combat with them as quickly as possible. Although Dwarves don't look like they are strong in combat, they are quite good at it so don't be fooled. Also on a minor note, I've heard that Dwarven Generals can usually be very cheap(in the cheese way) because of their Dwarven Runes. So don't quote me on that part.
