Wood Elves

Wood Elves inhabit the Forest of Loren southeast of The Empire. They are a relatively peaceful nation who usually attacks only if they are attacked first. They rarely leave the Forest of Loren unless it is to help an ally who is in trouble. They are not a offensive nation, usually defending The Forest of Loren from attacks from Chaos, Skaven, Orcs and Goblins, and sometimes the Undead. Wood Elves are the best archers in the Warhammer World. Most of their troops are archery. They don't have much that can attack other than Treemen, Dryads, and Wardancers. Wood Elves don't usually care about what happens in the World outside of Loren Forest, but sometimes they will.

If you are a Wood Elf player looking for some tips than look no further. Wood Elves are good at one main thing, archery. Therefore thats what I suggest that you buy for troops. Waywatchers are good because they need a 2 to hit and also can't be seen unless the enemy rolls a 4 on a D6. Also their traps are quite good at preventing people from entering the woods that they are in. Scouts are also quite good when it comes to archery. If you still want to get some fighting troops into your army list then I suggest that you get Treemen, Dryads, Wardancers, or Glade Riders. Treemen are big and powerful in hand-to-hand combat. Dryads have their special aspects that they can do, and they also have 2 wounds apiece. Wardancers are good because they don't get penalties for moving through hard terrain. And they also have their special Dances. Glade Riders are good light calvary for the Wood Elves.

If you are looking for some tips on how to defeat Wood Elves then here you go. Wood Elves are the best archers in the game, so you won't be able to out do them in that part of the battle. Although they are good archers, they lack strength in hand-to-hand combat, except for Treemen, Dryads, Wardancers, and Glade Riders. So I suggest you get them into hand-to-hand as quickly as possible. As for Waywatchers, they are usually in woods. Avoid going into the woods to go get them, they have traps that get set off whenever a enemy walks into the woods their in. Besides you need a 6 on a D6 to see them anyways. Some popular Magic Weapons that they might have are Bow of Loren, Hail of Doom Arrow, Star Lance, Heart of Woe, and Skull Wand of Kaloth. These magic items are considerbly dangerous to your army so keep those in mind.
