Ayla couldn't quite make clear what had happened. First she was in a tornado. Then she was flying through the air after being banged against something. After that, she landed on a balcony. The owner of it locked her up there, and all her strength couldn't break the door down.
"Ayla want out now!"
"Be patient," said Snifit 5, peering out through the glass of the door at her. "You'll get married soon enough." Then he whispered to Snifit 6, "I don't know why Booster wants to marry her. She's got ugly clothes, and her hair looks as if she never brushes it. And man, is she ever dirty." Ayla got mad when she heard this, and started her Rollo Kick. The glass on the door broke, and then she used her Cat Attack on it. It barely dented it. "Yikes! Let's get out of here!!!" Snifit 5 dashed out of the room.
"Wait for me!!!" yelled the other Snifit, charging after number 5. Ayla was getting exhausted. She couldn't budge the door. She looked down, and considered jumping from the balcony. But it was much too high.
Marle opened her eyes and sat up, wondering where she was. She recalled slamming into something when she was in the tornado, and the force had knocked her a long ways away, until she fell into a pipe and blacked out. As she looked around, she was startled to see what looked like a green dragon with red bumps down the back of its neck standing in front of her. It had bright red boots on its feet and wore a small brown saddle.
"Ahh! Another monster!" she yelled. Suddenly she realized her weapon was missing. "Hey, where's my bow?!" The strange creature spoke.
"It's hanging over there on the wall, but you really don't need it right now."
"What am I doing here?"
"Well, I just happened to be strolling along in the pipe vault, when you landed on the floor through the pipe, unconscious. So, I brought you here."
"Where is this?"
"This is Yo'ster Isle."
"And who are you?" It cocked its head to one side and looked at her, surprised at all the questions.
"I'm Yoshi. Pleased to meet you." Marle suddenly remembered something.
"Crono. . .where's Crono?"
"Who's Crono?"
"Um, you know, a boy about my height with a sword and red hair?" Yoshi thought for a minute, then shook his head.
"Sorry, I haven't seen him." Marle tried to stand, but she was wobbly and fell back down. Yoshi looked worriedly at her. "You'd better rest right now." And with that, he left the hut. Marle noticed she was sitting on a grass mattress, and as she lay down and went to sleep, she muttered, "Not again. . ."
Magus, on the other hand, was not as unfortunate as the two girls. He had made sure he had landed gently by using his magic. But he had no need, since he landed in water with a SPLASH! A jellyfish confronted him, but his Dark Matter soon took care of it.
"Where am I? Well, at least I'm far away from that crazy frog." He went through a cave, and up onto a trampoline. He landed in Seaside town and walked into the inn.
"Gee, uh, I guess you want to spend the night," said the innkeeper. He was a bit frightened of this new character.
"No, I just want to know where I am!"
"The Town of Seaside, in the Mushroom World."
"Hmmm. . .must be where that Mario guy is from. . ."
Finally, Ayla had thought of a plan to get out. She started her Dino Tail tech, and when the tail was down to the ground she quickly slid onto it and out of there.
"Whew! Ayla glad me out of there! Now find Crono." She had taken a bit of damage, but that didn't stop her.
"Let's see. . .Ayla fly from that direction, so maybe Crono over there!" She started off.
"Marle. . .where's Marle. . ." Mario had taken Crono to Raz and Raini's house so he could heal. "I need to find her. . ." He tried to sit up but was much too weak at the moment.
"You will, soon en -- oh, he passed out! I guess I'd better find Marle for him," said Mario. He turned to Raz.
"You will look after him, right?"
"Of course we will!" they both replied.
"Then I'll be off!"
Frog paced around the room.
"Where dost thee think they went?"
"I don't know, but since Crono had his portable phone attached, maybe I can ring him up. I gave one to those apes, too," replied Lucca.
"It is worth a try," said Robo.
BRRRIIIING! Raz jumped straight up into the air.
"What was that?!"
BRRRIIIING! Raini looked Crono over.
"Oh, look! He has a portable phone. Someone's trying to call him." She picked up the phone.
"Hello, Raz and Raini residence."
"Did he answer?" asked Robo.
"No, there's someone else on. Hello, is Crono there?"
"Crono? Oh, that boy. Yes, he's here."
"Can I speak to him?"
"Sorry, but he can't talk right now."
"Why not?"
"Because he's unconscious."
"Oh. Well, can you wake him up?"
Raini turned to Raz.
"They asked if we can wake him up."
"That's what we've been trying to do for the last hour!" Raini spoke into the phone again.
"We can try, but he's been like this for more than an hour."
"Have you tried a Revive?"
"A what? Oh, you mean a Pick Me Up?"
"No, I mean a Revive. I think he might have one in his pack."
"All right, we'll try."
Soon, Crono woke up.
"Here, your friend is calling," said Raini, handing the phone to him.
"Marle?" he asked hopefully.
"No, someone named Laccu or something." Crono was disappointed.
"Hello, Lucca?"
"Crono, we were worried! Where are you?"
"I think I'm in Mario's world."
"Are the others all right?"
"I don't know. I haven't seen them."
"We need to get where you are so we can form a search party."
"But how? If we came here as a result of that wish, there's nothing we can do. Apparently, the Star Road's been broken again."
"I don't think that's a problem. I know someone who can create Gates not only to different time periods, but also to different points in a time and to different worlds. I'll contact it."
"It?" Crono asked in disbelief.
"I don't know if it's a he or she."
"Oh."
"Bye!" Lucca hung up and dialed the strange person's number.
