We are the people of the wind!
The fate of our clan, as well as of the Empire, hangs in the balance. A large portion of our forces are now fighting alongside the Samurai from the other clans, attempting to reach the Troll city of Volturnum. Blocking their path are the Shadowlands Horde and the many minions of the Shadow. If we fail, the Gate to Jigoku will forever close, signaling the end of the Empire and victory for the Shadow.
On another front, a legion of Unicorn, mainly Moto, are riding out to confront their Undead cousins, bringing the Prophecy of the Burning Words closer to fruition. If the pure Moto fall, so falls the Unicorn.
Dark times approach once more. We must be strong.
The Provincial Estate of the Unicorn
For hundreds of years, the lost clan of the Ki-Rin were absent from the fields of Rokugan, following a destiny apart from the Empire. When they returned, they brought with them powerful horses and strange sorceries, and they claimed the right to rule the lands once given to their ancestors. Now the Clan of the Unicorn stands among the other Great Clans of the Jade Empire, and their compassion for the peasantry has earned them the right to rule as magistrates, judging the crimes of the populace and governing the law of the Empire. In Toturi's absence, the swift steeds of the Unicorn may be the only force standing between the Law of the Emperor and the chaos of war.
"If we continue like dogs, barking and biting each other's heels, we will die like dogs."

After the battle between the two Moto factions, the Lady Shinjo found the body of Kamoko, and declared that the Battle Maiden will forever stand by Her side. Immortality for the greatest Battle Maiden of our time!
4th July 2000
The truth is finally revealed. Months ago, the Lady Kamoko made a bargain with the Shadowlands in Morikage. The details of that bargain were never truly known. Until now. It appears that Kyoso no Oni knew then about the Prophecy of the Burning Words, and inhabited a part of Kamoko's soul, protecting her from the Taint and waiting for her time to strike.
The time came when Moto Tsume dealt the fatal blow to Kamoko. As Kamoko died, Kyoso no Oni emerged and absorbed Moto Tsume's strength and power. With him and Oni no Akuma dead, Kyoso no Oni is now the sole strongest Oni Overlord.
3rd July 2000
Tragedy! Lord Shinjo Hanari has witnessed the death of our Thunder Otaku Kamoko by the hand of the undead Lord Moto Tsume! This is right after the Lady Kamoko's planned betrayal against the Undead Moto as per her secret missive to us months before.
2nd July 2000
Due to the betrayal of our previous Champion Yokatsu, and the loss of our Thunder Otaku Kamoko to the Shadowlands, the Unicorn have been without a Champion. No longer. The Lady Shinjo has chosen Gaheris, the Moto Khan from the Burning Sands, to be our new Champion. Long live Moto Gaheris!
1st July 2000
The Prophecy of the Burning Words has come to pass. The Moto will be one. The pure Moto, together with the Lady Shinjo, have met the Undead Moto under the command of Moto Tsume, in battle. Furthermore, the Moto from the Burning Sands, under the leadership of Gaheris, have arrived to lend their strength to the battle.
Now it only remains to be seen which side of the conflict will prevail. Will the Undead Moto be conquered and the name of the Moto be cleared? Or will the pure Moto fall and rise again alongside their Undead cousins?
16th June 2000
The war in the Shadowlands goes poorly for the armies of the Empire. In order to reach the city of Volturnum, small parties of Samurai have broken off from the main army in order to race to the Gate to Jigoku. A small party of Unicorn, apparently under the leadership of Otaku Xieng Chi and Shinjo Shono, are among those seeking to reach the city.
