My notes on Job classes:


Squire: poor abilities, but you start out here.
Chemist: LEARN THESE ABILITIES!!! You will need these in the beginning, towards the late middle, and early end. Decent Job due to Gun toting ability.
Knight: Pretty good break abilities, but not as useful as you may think......... Still a good class with high Hp totals.
Archer: A tactical advantage with a bow; a liability with a crossbow. Charge abilities can be used with any weapons.
Priest: Unreliable Cure spells, but many must-have spells. Calculator class.
Wizard: Good magic skills towards the begginning and early middle. Not a great spell list for the Calculator class. Calculator class.
Monk: Suprisingly good healer and attacker. A great secondary skill.
Thief: Great skills.... poor class. Memorize the skills from bar propositions as you can only get rare items from your enemies, or by poaching.
Oracle: Good tactical skills. Learn all of them for your Calculator. Calculator Class.
Time Mage: Great tactical skills! Learn all of them for your calculator!! Calculator Class.
Geomancer: Spells cause little damage which may make you want to just use this class as a stepping stone to the higher ones.
Lancer: Save up for both the lv8 jumps and you'll have one great fighter!
Mediator: What can I say... Great spells in theory.... but very low percentages for success. I skipped this class.
Summoner: The Big Guns. Great spells, but high mp cost and slow charge times will limit this class to the late beginning to Middle areas of the game.
Samurai: Kiyomori and Murasame will be the reasons to partake in this class. Low Hp totals will make you put this skill as a secondary skill.
Ninja: MUST HAVE!!!! Two Swords is a great ability as you can inflict twice the damage! Equip Armor may help your Ninja's hp totals. High speed, movement and at make this one of the best classes.
Calculator: Can instantly cast spells with no mp cost!......... Knew there was a catch right? You can only cast spells LEARNED from the calc. classes, you attack using your enemies' status number (it's hard to describe), and attack spells do way less damage than before. With a speed of 4, you will rely on bar prop. jp and "math skill" as a secondary skill. Still a great class.
Dancer: DO NOT BOTHER!!!!! Attacks all enemies, but the dances suck!!
Bard: DO NOT BOTHER!!!!! Casts on all allies, but takes to long to cast and are really unreliable.
Mime: I have no real experience with this class, but I hear its good.
