BACKGROUND:
Boshi is a Yoshi with a bad attitude. He's light blue with red spines,
and likes to wear a studded collar and sunglasses.
Boshi gained noteriety several years ago by declaring himself the fastest
Yoshi alive. For some time he dominated the other Yoshis, and declared
himself their leader. As the fastest in the group, the others felt he
was qualified, and he maintained his position by carefully choosing
competitors who would lose to him in one-on-one races.
Eventually Yoshi was able to beat Boshi with some help from Mario.
The rest of the Yoshis tried to declare Yoshi their new boss, but he
declined, although Yoshi does have the respect and loyalty of most of
his relatives. Boshi now competes fairly against the other Yoshis, and
although he wins his fair share of races, the rumour that he was the
fastest Yoshi alive has been put to rest. Boshi is not as dominant
in all-out races against more than one competitor as he is in one-on-one
races, but he seems to have learned to enjoy the challenge.
|
OTHER BACKGROUND INFO:
To the victor go the spoils, goes the old saying. In Boshi's case,
that would be modified to say, to the victor go the cookies. Boshi may
seem tough on the outside with his studded collar and mirrored shades,
but he has a weakness for cookies that may unsaddle him in the end. He
can no more resist a race when a cookie is at stake than Mario can resist
helping people in need. Once you defeat the bully, you can leave
your winning with one of Yoshi's pals and return to race later in the
game. Even in defeat, Boshi will want to race if a cookie is the prize.

QUOTES:
"What're YOU lookin' at? If you wanna challenge me, you have to bring
Cookies!"
"SO! You brought the Cookies. All right! Consider yourself lucky today.
You've got yourself a race...one-on-one."
"This is as easy as it gets, man."
"Since WHEN have you been able to sprint like that?! Oh...well...I
had my day in the sun. Let metive you a tip! Race someone SLOW. That
way, you'll be able to stash away the Cookies!"
(Agreeing to race with everyone) "Hmmm...All right! Just stay outta
my way! Oh, here's the Cookie stash for the winner."
"You lookin' at me?"

BATTLE PLAN:
Attack Pattern: He runs. That's about it.
Basic Fighting Strategies:
You have to run too. This is actually easier said than done. You have to
press the A and B buttons alternating with precise timing to run properly.
It's actually kind of clever - better than button mashing, but it is quite
hard to get the hang of. There is some music with a beat that you should
try to synchronize your button-pushing to - but here's the trick; at certain
parts of the song, the beat will stop or change...keep going to the original
beat when that happens.
Advanced Strategies:
To earn lots of cookies later on, bet high and then save if Yoshi wins or reset
the game if he loses and bet again. It's important to be able to hold lots
of cookies because if you only have a couple to bet you won't earn much. Whether
you ride or watch is up to you, although you will improve your chances if you
learn to ride well.
