Attack Pattern:
He pulls lots of bombs out of his sack...this is probably his favourite
attack, but he will also attack with a regular chomp now and then. Near
the end of the battle, he restores his HP with a Weird Mushroom.
Basic Fighting Strategies:
Mallow causes hardly any damage with his regular attacks, and his bolt
attack is a waste of FP that Mario could be using. Use Mallow for HP
Rain, and to fill up your FP with honey syrups when necessary. When
he isn't doing either of these things, you might want to put him in defense
mode (I personally just have him attack...I find that defense
mode doesn't usually do a lot of good...but that's just me).
Meanwhile, Mario goes on the offensive. Fire Orbs will cause tons of damage,
and they might start Croco's tail on fire, which will take away one of his
turns! Regular attacks also cause a fair amount of damage, and you may
want to alternate between the two to conserve FP. Basically, Croco's
a chump in this first fight. He only gets one attack in for every two
of yours (sometimes he gets even less than that), and you shouldn't have
much trouble beating him with a combo of regular attacks and fire orbs.
Advanced Strategies:
You can block Croco's attacks by pressing A just as he chomps, or just
before a bomb hits you.
