At the police station, February
'92. Bo has been kidnapped by Raffi Torres' men
and Carly has just received
a letter from him (on Valentines Day). She has brought it to Abe and he
is having tests run on it. In the meantime, Roman has been forced to go
undercover to search for Bo and bring Torres down, thanks to the price
Torres has put on his head and the fear that they will harm Marlena and
the children. Marlena and Carly are both coping their own ways with the
stress and Marlena is waiting with Carly at the station for the results
of the analysis on the letter.
Carly: You're amazing, you're truly amazing. I don't know how you do it.
Marlena: (Making a cup of coffee) Do what?
Carly: How you keep it together so well.
Marlena: I don't keep it together so well.
Carly: Well every time I see you, well...
Marlena: Well that's when, that's when you see me. The times you don't see me, the times when I'm home by myself, when I don't have to be a good mother, fine doctor or caring friend....well *you* know that.
Carly: But when I see you, when I see what you're going through, I think maybe there's something wrong with me, because I can't seem to handle things the way you do.
Marlena: No, no, we just handle things differently, that's all.... I handle my pain late at night, when the shades are drawn and everybody else's asleep --
Carly: You can call me, I want you to know that, I'm pretty late these nights myself.
Marlena: (smiles) Maybe not for long you won't be...
Carly: (also smiling) Maybe neither one of us will be...
Marlena: (taking a drink of her
coffee) Mmmmmm...
