Carrie Carrie Carrie is the eldest child of Roman Brady and the daughter of Anna Brady DiMera. But she was raised mainly by John Black (when he thought he was Roman) and Marlena Evans, and maintains a very close relationship with them. Carrie survived the normal problems of childhood as well as a broken arm sustained in a fall while ice skating and more traumatically, being hit by a car. Unfortunately, Carrie didn't escape unscathed from Stefano DiMera's obsession with her family. When Carrie was only four, Anna hypnotized her as part of a DiMera plot to frame Roman. later, Carrie was kidnapped and held hostage by Stefano. And there was a long period when she believed her father and stepmother were dead. But when Austin Reed came into her life, everything changed. Carrie fell in love with the handsome stranger; and nothing Roman said or did could discourage her. That is, until the night that Austin's shady past resulted in Carrie's face being burned by acid as the couple exited the party at which Carrie had been announced as the winner of Bella magazine's Face of the Nineties contest. That nasty bit of business kept the twosome apart for at least a year. Later; just when the reunited Carrie and Austin were to wed, Sami Brady broke up the ceremony by announcing that she was carrying Austin's baby. It's been a rocky period for Carrie, but she finally was able to marry the man of her dreams at the end of the summer 1997.
