Summary of Saint Seiya Manga 21 - Chapter 1.

Title : "Gold Lion shows its tusks"
p8 : Lion Temple.
Specters are about to enter th temple when they meet Aioria. Cyclops
Giganto asks him if Saga & Co passed there but Aioria doesn't know.
p10 : So Giganto wonders if they teleported from Canceer Temple to any temple.
Aioria explains him it's impossible to teleport himself through temples.
Even Mu can't do it. It's because Athena's cosmo is concentrated in these
12 temples since mythical times. Even if you have any kind of super powers,
in these temples you can only walk.
<5> Giganto : "I see"
"But, in that case, where Saga & Co ... ?"
<6> Aioria : "Do you worry about Saga & Co to that degree ?"
In fact, Specters don't trust on Saga & Co. They only have to keep a
watch on them.
p12 : 5 Specters try to cross over the temple but Aioria kills them with his
Lightning Plasma.
p14 : Specters are astonished by the power of Aioria and wonder how they could
pass. Then a Specter arrive asking them what they are afraid of, since
Aioria is alone.
p16 : Lower down in the stairs leading to Lion Temple.
Mu finds the body of a dead Specter and wonders who killed him. Then he
notices that there isn't only 1 man but 3 who were killed there. They both
were stripped of their Sapuris which are also named Specter's Clothes.
Mu also notices that the second man's wound is like those made by sharp
swords. Moreover the third man is covered by frozen injuries.
Mu begins to understand who killed them.
p18 : Back to Lion Temple.
The new Specter is Worm Raimi. He wants to fight Aioria in order to allow
other Specters to leave the temple. Then he disappears in a hole he has just
made in the ground.
Giganto decides to follow Raimi's advice : he and others Specters run
toward Aioria.
p20 : Then Aioria feels a cosmo from these Specters, a cosmo he already felt in
the past. So he wonders if there is someone he knows among them. As Specters
come closer and closer to him, Aioria warns them that he will kill the all
if they try to cross over the Temple.
But kinds of tentacles come out of the ground and twist around Aioria.
p22 : Worm's bnids paralyse him and quarter his body.
Again Giganto wants to take advantage of the situation to kill Aioria
but a tentacle stops him.
p24 :
<25-1> Raimi : "It's unnecessary. Don't interfere"
"I already told you that `I` will get rid of this man"
Giganto understands and leave the temple with others Specters.
p26 : Raimi tells Aioria it's impossible to escape from Worm's Bind. Then, as
Giganto told him, Raimi attacks Aioria by sending a tentacle towards him.
Aioria succeeds in avoiding the tentacle which goes through a pillar.
Aioria understands that such a power can make this tentacle go through
his body.
p28 : So he begins to concentrate his cosmo to show Raimi Lion's power.
Raimi keeps on telling him it's useless.
p30 : Nevertheless Aioria succeeds in destroying all binds. Raimi decides to
throw his tentacle through Aioria's body this time. (Does it mean he missed
Aioria on purpose the previous time ?)
p32 : But Aioria catches the tentacle and pulls on it.
This makes Raimi go out of the ground. Aioria tells him a worm must die like
a worm. That's why he kicks him in the ground.
p34 : But Worm goes out of the ground again. He tells Aioria that he is able to
regenerate his limbs like a worm. Consequently he can also attack Aioria
again with his Worm's binds.
p36 : But Aioria was ready and kills his enemy with his Lightning Plasma.
p38 : Then Shiryu enters the temple.
<39-1> Aioria : "Shiryu"
Shiryu : "Aioria, what about Specters ?"
<39-2> Aioria : "I killed about 6 persons but some people headed for the
next, Virgo Temple."
Shiryu gets ready to follow them but ..
<39-4> Aioria : "Wait Shiryu. There is that I become a little anxious"
Shiryu : "humm .. that you become anxious ?"
<39-5> Aioria : "Some people that we know, have mixed with Specters who
headed for Virgo Temple"
<39-6> Shiryu : "What ? Some people that we know .. ?"
"These people, who .. ?"
<39-7> Aioria thinks : "With which intention, are they trying to cross these
12 Temples ?"
"I don't know it yet but .."
But Aioria knows who they are.
p40 : During this, Specters arrives at the 6th Temple : Virgo Temple.
They don't feel any cosmo but Shaka is the one who is the closest to gods
even among Gold Saints. They also wonder if this means that Shaka and Saga
&Co killed each other.
One specter suggests thinking about that while heading up to the next
Temple. But Giganto tells them to wait.
<41-3> Giganto : "An enemy is mixed among us"
Specter : "What ?"
<41-4> Specter : ".. that there is an enemy among us"
<41-6> Specter : "It's impossible. That person, who .. ?"
p42 :
<1> Giganto : "Kiew !"
Kiew : "Yes"
<2> Giganto : "Do remove your mask and let's see"
<3> Kiew : "What"
<4> Giganto : "What's the matter ? You don't remove it ? If you really were
Kiew, you should have already removed it"
Kiew : "huh .."
Then a column of light appears and distracts them from Kiew.
p44 : It comes from Shaka who is still alive.
Next Chapter : 108 Beads.

p46 : Specters attack Shaka.
p48 : But he is protected by something like a defensive wall all around him
which repulses all attacks. It was under this defensive wall that Shaka
hid his cosmo after his confrontation with Saga.
p50 : Then Shaka throws his "TenKuuHaJa ChiMiMouRyou".
Lots of evil spirits appears.
p52 : Specters are afraid by these spirits.
Shaka finds this funny and proposes them to teach one thing and only one
before to kill them.
The number of beads of the rosary Shaka is holding and the number of
Specters/MaSei is the same : 108. (Actually there are 150 beads in the
rosary - Hey it's a ROSARY ! - So don't count beads.)
And then he shows them some dark beads :
<53-2> Shaka : "Look ! Among the 108 beads, color of 11 pieces has already
changed."
"This is the number of Specters who had entered in the 12
Temples and who are dead"
<53-3> Specters : "What ? (Do you mean) that 11 persons were killed .."
"That is ... IMPOSSIBLE .."
p54 : Then Shaka sends again his TenKuuHaJa ChiMiMouRyou with the intention
of killing them. But someone dissipates the evil spirits. Specters wonder
who did this.
p56 : This person is Kiew. He tells Shaka there isn't only people who are
afraid by his threads. They face spreading out their own cosmo.
p58 : Then Kiew runs towards Shaka.
<1> Kiew : "Quick Shaka, move over from there"
Specters : "Kiew"
<2> Shaka : "It's ridiculous ! If you want to cross over, come here and
kill me !"
Then 2 others Specters appear behind Kiew.
<59-1> Specters : "Miles"
"Ox"
<59-2> Giganto : "Hum .. It's false. In fact, these 3 persons are different
ones ... The true character of these guys is .."
<59-3> Ox : "Receive the death .." (or "die !")
<59-4/5> Miles/Kiew : ".. Shaka !"
p60 : But their attacks are stopped by Shaka's defensive wall.
<2> Specters : "Oh it's useless"
"Once again, everything was fully repulsed by Shaka's defensive
wall"
<3> Giganto : "No, it isn't like this"
Specter : "What ?"
In fact, he was slightly injured. Shaka reveals that Kiew &Co are Gold
Saints of the past who fell in Evil.
<61-4> Specters : "What, (you mean) that they are Gold Saints .."
"In that case, these 3 guys are ..."
p62 :
<1> Shaka : "So ! Remove these borrowing Sapuris and, after a long time, show
your faces"
Shaka throws out his cosmo and destroys Kiew & Co's Sapuris.
<63-1> Specters : "Oh !"
"In fact, it's you !"
<63-2> "Saga, Camus, Shura"
p64 : Back to Lion Temple.
<64-1> Aioria : "Shaka would like to die ... "
<64-2> Shiryu : "Wha.."
<64-4> Aioria : "If Shaka wanted to stop these 3 persons (speaking about
Saga, Camus And Shura), there is no doubt that he could do it
in Cancer Temple ..."
"But he let them come up to Virgo Temple."
So Aioria thinks it's because Shaka is determined to die.

Title : Under the twin Sala.
p66 : Virgo Temple. Shaka and Saga & Co stare at each others.
p68 : Specters are still astonished. They wonders why Saga & Co were dressed
with Kiew & Co's Sapuris.
Giganto understands they killed Kiew & Co on the way and thinks they
betrayed Hades. So he attacks Saga. But Saga paralyzes him with his cosmo.
<69-2> Giganto : "H.huh .. my body .."
"My body doesn't move."
Saga tells him to withdraw if life is precious.
<69-4> Giganto : "What .."
p70 :
<1> Saga : "I'm saying that if you want Athena's head, leave it up to us"
Saga hits him with his energy.
<3> Specters : "Cyclops"
<4> Giganto : "Guuu..Sa..Saga.."
"You are, in fact, .."
Shaka and 3 Black Gold Saints face again.
<71-2> Shaka : "Saga, your last words are not lies ?"
"You really intend to take Athena's head ?"
<71-3> Saga : "Yes, we do"
<71-4> Shaka : "Are you sincere ?"
<71-5> Saga : "Don't ask again"
p72 : Shaka thinks about this and Black Gold Saints wait for his decision which
is incredibe : Shaka allows them to go on.
p74 : As they hesitates, Shaka explains he can't fight the 3 stronger Gold
Saints alone. So they goes on.
Specters, seeing this, laugh at Shaka and runs towards him in order to
cross over the temple too.
p76 : Shaka asks them if they have already forgotten what Saga told them :
to withdraw if life is precious. Shaka shows them 6 beads representing the 6
Specters still alive : these beads are dark now.
Frightened, Specters tries to force the way. But Shaka concentrates his
cosmo. He doesn't forgive them for having made dirty stone steps of the 12
Temples with their dirty shoes !
p78 : So he kills the with his TenMaKoHuku.
p80 : Before being dead Giganto teaches Shaka, they are not afraid by Death
because those who are faithful to Hades will receive an eternal life. Shaka
explains him,he constantly converses with Buddha since his birth but he had
never heard something about an human being who would have received Eternal
Life.
Giganto dies wondering if Hades didn't lie.
Shaka gets up and tells Saga &Co to wait.
He asks them to tell him the truth, now that all Specters are dead.
Saga accepts.
p82 : and says "It's to take Athena's head !"
Now, Shaka knows what he has to do.
p84 : He asks them to follow him because they can't dirty Virgo Temple with
blood.
<2> Saga : "Where shall we go, Shaka ?"
<3> Shaka : "A Death place !"
<4/6> Black GS : "What ?"
p86 : They leave the temple by a side-door and enters a garden in which there is
2 twin trees.
<2> Shura : "What the .. a such large garden beside Virgo Temple .."
Camus : "I see it for the first time ... This garden , what is it ?"
<3> Saga : "I see ..."
"It seems this is the Garden of the Salas, the twin trees that we
can hear in rumours .."
<4> Camus : "The garden of the twin Salas ?"
<87-2> Saga : "As you know, Shaka is told to be Buddha's reincarnation."
"That Buddha at entrance to Nirvana ... in short, the place where
he lay down at the moment of his death is under the twin Salas"
<87-3> : "In the past, I heard that Virgo Shaka too, when he die (he will
lie down) under the twin Salas"
"And that those twin Salas were near beside this Virgo Temple."
p88 : So this may mean Shaka is determined todie while fighting Saga & Co.
And Shura is ready to help him with his Excalibur.
p90 : Shaka avoid it by jumping above Shura. He tells them this Death place may
be theirs. Camus meets hi into the the air and uses his Diamond Dust.
p92 : Shaka's right knee is froze by Camus's iced blow. He notices that Saga is
behind him.
Before he can't react, Saga opens Another Dimension. But Shaka doesn't
want to be sent in another dimension again and succeeds in escaping.
Shaka understands he can't fight these 3 Saints at the same time. If he
tries, he would be killed sooner or later.
p94 : Camus, Shura and Saga surround him and then run towards him. Shaka lifts
up his rosary. Saga recognizes the threat and warns his friends.
p96 : Shaka uses his most secret technique : TeBuHoRin. It's a position of both
attack and defence. Saga & Co can neither attack nor run away.
p98 : Shaka explains the only way they have to kill him is the technique
forbidden y Athena a long time ago : Athena Exclamation.
p100 : Of course, they hesitate to use this forbidden technique.
Shaka tells them the choice is their proble. As for him, he only has to
remove their 5 senses and he begins with the 1st one.
p102 : Saga is ready to accept to use Athena Exclamation but Camus and Shura
don't want.
<4> Saga : "You 2, you should have understood it, too ! .."
"Since we came in this Garden of the Twin Salas ..."
<103-1> Saga : "Shaka doesn't intend to defeat us, he would rather die"
"being under these 2 Twin Salas, Shaka, now, is trying to finish
his life !"
p104 : Some explanation about Athena Exclamation :
This technique consists in the union of 3 Gold Saints in order to form
the Trinity.
They concentrate on a dot their increased to final Gold Cosmo.
They destrictive power, though in a lower scale, is comparable even to
the Big Bang of the creation of the universe.
Consequently, because of this so terrible destrictive power, Athena
Exclamation was forbidden by Athena since Mythical times.
p106 : Camus and Shura doesn't seem to be convinced and Shaka takes advantage of
this hesitation ...
p108 : .. so as to remove their 2nd sens. Camus and Shura want to fight fairly
and are reluctant to be 3 to kill only one person.
According to them, Athena Exclamation is a vile technique for cowards.
Shaka keep on removing their senses : now it's turn of 3rd ones.
p110 : Saga reminds them of their mission : they have to go up to Athena even
if they must give up both the honour and the name of Saint.
Camus and Shura takes new heart.
Now they will fight for Athena, for the love of the Earth and for
Justice.
To accompany this resolution, comes the loss of their 4th sens.
p112 : A terrible premonition hits everyone in the Sanctuary such as Athena
and Kanon in Pope's room.
<113-1> Milo in his Temple : "muuu.."
"Sh..Shaka, you really .."
<113-2> "Do you intend to die, Shaka ?"
<113-3> Shiryu and Aioria come in Virgo Temple.
<113-4> Aioria : "Shaka, Wait !!"
"Now, I come as a back-up !"
p114 : Unfortunately they find the way to the garden closed by a heavy door.
Aioria gets ready to pulverize it but Mu stops him : "You mustn't
demolish this door and come in the garden of the twin Salas"
Aioria doesn't understand and refuse to abandon Shaka.
Mu explains him that this is what Shaka wishes !
p116 : 14 years ago - India.
Shaka is in a Buddha's temple. The latter is worrying because Shaka
stays sitting everyday.
Shaka explains he saw lot of corpses floating in the Gange River and
that there was pilgrims having a swin in the bank of the rivers. They
looked as if they wished to die rather than to live.
Shaka wonders why his country is so stricken with poverty and whether
people are born to savour only pain and sadness.
Buddha explains him that there is never only pain in lives.
There is also joy. He compare human beings to flowers : they open out but
later or sooner they fade.
p118 : Shaka doesn't really understand. (Neither we did :)
Back to present day.
Saga announces to Shaka their decision of using Athena Exclamation.
Shaka says it was almost too late. One attack later, they would have
lost all their 5 senses.
p120 : Shaka explains they must kill him before he brandish his rosary.
They agree and use Athena Exclamation.
Shaka tries to remove their 5th sens.
p122 : Shaka seems at last happy.
Then a big explosion.
p124 : The explosion decreases to a white page. Kurumada explains this
himself in Manga 22.
p126 : Everyone (Athena, Milo, Kanon, Shiryu, Aioria and Mu) in Sanctuary
feels Shaka's death.
p128 : The garden has been destroyed. All the pretty flowers has been blown
away and the ground has been pulled out.
But the 2 Salas remains.
p130 : Milo is angry with Saga for having used the forbidden technique.
Kanon doesn't understand his brother.
Aioria is angry too at not having been able to save Shaka.
p132 : 14 years ago.
Buddha tells Shaka that death doesn't always mean something permanant.
In the past all the persons called Saints (= Sacred persons not
warriors) overcame the death. If Shaka could understand this he would
become the man who is almost a god.
Back to present.
Black Gold Saints are reviewing their senses.
Camus only has hearing, Shura has taste and Saga has sight.
Suddenly Saga sees something. Shura and Camus wonders what happens.
They quickly understand.
p134 : Shaka is still live !
Saga & Co are astonished and, when Shaka gets up, Shura gets ready to
fight again. But Saga notices Shaka's look is empty and holds Shura back.
p136 : Shaka goes away from them and towards the 2 Salas.
<137-1> : "Flowers open out and then they fade."
<137-2> : "stars shine and later or sooner they go off."
<137-3> : "Both this Earth, the Sun, the Milky Way ..."
<137-4> : "And even for the big Universe which is growing, later or sooner
the time to die will come."
And compared to these things, human life is insignificant.
p138 :
<1> : "In that little moment, a man is born,"
"loves someone, hates someone,"
"laughs, cries,"
<139-1> : "fights, is injured,"
"feels joy and feels sadness.
<139-2> : "And, in the end, he is covered by an eternal sleep called Death .."
Now Shaka is seated between the 2 Salas, catching some petals.
p140 :
<1> Saga : "He is writing someting on petals with the blood whose his
finger is impregnated"
Shura proposes to be Shaka's KaiShaku (Suicid assistant)
Shaka has finished his writings : 4 petals got a Kanji.
<141-1> Shaka : "Wind, carry them away"
"up to Athena ..."
<141-6> Shura : "Have you finished all the things you have to do ?"
"If it's so, sorry .."
And Shura lowers his hand to kill Shaka.
p142 : But he don't have to do it.
Shaka disappears by himself. His spirit kept his body alive in order
to write his message to Athena.

Title : To Entrust To Athena
p144 : Shaka has disappeared. Only his rosary remains.
Saga & Co cries on his grave. They are swearing on his soul that they
never betrayed Athena, when they "see" a feary (one of Papillon's
butterflies of the Death World).
So Saga tramples underfoot Shaka's grave and rosary.
p146 : They leave the garden and meet Shiryu, Mu and Aioria.
p148 : Mu and Saga faces. Saga holds Shaka's rosary out to Mu.
Mu grabs it too.
Suddenly, Aioria can't wait any more.
<149-5> Aioria : "Move over, Mu !"
p150 : Aioria hits successively Saga, Camus and Shura.
p152 : Aioria challenges them to attack him together. But they refuse with a
joke ( Does the sleeping Lion wake up angry ?)
So Aioria threatens to send them back to Death World.
p154 : He attacks them with his Lightning Bolt.
Something amazing happens :
p156 : Mu has held Aioria's arm back.
Mu explains he shouldn't hit such handicapped persons but Aioria is fed
up with Mu's philosophical thoughts.
He is frustated by his witnessing Shaka's death and his incapacity to do
something.
Anyway, he doesn't regard Saga & Co as persons any longer.
p158 : So he hits them with his Lightning Plasma.
p160 : But Saga stopped all the power of Lightning Plasma.
Saga explains he understands Aioria's feeling but he can't let him kill
them. And, as it remains only about 4 hours, they will have to kill everyone
who will try to stop them.
Milo appears then and says he finds this very interesting because he
planned to kill them here.
p162 : in front of Athena Statue, Athena notices wind is full of Sala's petals.
She wonders if this is a message from Shaka.
Back to Virgo Temple. Saints are astonished by the coming of Milo.
Mu asks him if he decided himself to come here. Milo refuses to answer...
p164 : and hits Black Gold Saints with Scarlet Niddle.
p166 : Milo explains he could't stay carefreely in his Temple while knowing
Shaka was killed. So he will kill them and all will be over.
Milo hits them again.
p168 : Milo explains that usually he grants his ennemies the opportunity
to choose between to surrender or to diie. But for them, he needn't think
about it : it is Death !
Milo gets ready to use the last attack, the Antares.
Saga gets up to receive it.
Then Mu warns Milo to move away.
p170 : Saga launches his most powerful attack, Galaxian Explosion, and throws
Milo against a pilar. Thanks to Mu, Milo succeeded in avoiding the main
attack.
p172 : Saga & Co are fresh as a daisy again !
Saga reminds they are ready to kill everyone who will be in their way.
Milo doesn't understand how they can still fight since they lost 4 of
their senses and received Aioria's Lightning Pasma and 14 of his pricks.
Suddenly Saga & Co take the posture f the Trinit and prepare again Athena
Exclamation !
p174 : In front of Athena Statue, Saorie discovers the 4 petals with bloody
Kanji which form the word ARAYASHIKI (Buddhist reading : Alaya Conscience)
Athena understands why Shaka died and she knows what she has to do.
p176 : Saga explains they don't get enough Cosmo any more to fight so it remains
for them only Athena Exclamation.
And as they had already commited the crime to use it once, they won't
hesitate this time.
Saga announces them that they will die but Gold Saints have also a
surprise for Saga :
<3> Aioria : "Saga, don't you forget something ?"
Milo : "We are also 3 Gold Saints !"
They take Athena Exclamation posture too.
p178 : Mu explains that, not only Virgo Temple, bt whole Sanctuary will be
destroyed if 2 A.E. collide.
Saga & Co will die too if they use it, so Mu proposes them to negociate.
But Saga explains that they won't have to take Athena's head if Sanctuary
is destroyed. This way is the easiest and fastest one.
So they launch their attack leading to a big explosion.
