I think a lot of people slag this game unnecessarily,
because they are comparing it to SC2. On it's own, SC3
is an interesting game, worth playing, but nothing too
exciting. I liked the plot elements and thought it
mostly followed the plot of SC2 pretty well. I
especially loved the crazy twists like having the Orz
turn out to be evil allies of the eternal one. However,
the new ships essentially suck, the colony system sucks,
the navigation sucks, and the music really really sucks.
(Why don't all games just use mod soundtracks? Why?)
Anyway, I think it's a shame that the original creators
of Star Control weren't working on this one. Oh also,
after SC2, I was massively disappointed by the ending of
this game. One crappy little movie sequence? Get real.
I'm glad I played SC3 through, but I'm gonna be playing
SC2 until I die.
