I borrowed SC3 from a friend expecting to find some of
the best qualities from SC2 and more. Boy was I
dissappointed. One thing that struck me was the lack of
originality. All of the old races simply spouted random
lines from SC2. Although it was interesting to find out
how they actually sounded while speaking. The music just
reeked. It just didn't capture the feel of each of the
races and most of the game, I didn't even pay attention
to it. Warp Bubble was stupid too. In SC2, you had the
unpredictable factor of bumping into ships in
hyperspace, but in SC3 it's just a matter of having
enough fuel, which was so easy to get. The game also
totally trashed the mystery of the Precursors. C'mon, a
bunch of cows created a huge interstellar vessel? The
new races were never really a factor to me and the
ending SUCKED. I loved the ending in SC2. All that
slapstick humor and witty dialogue made me just want to
play it over and over just to see the ending again. What
do I get in SC3? One lousy movie, crappy MIDI music, a
dumb slideshow of the races of SC3, and a Wonder
Years-like narrative. I would advise readers to save
their money for something better.
