It all started in Gobi's home-world, Gobi's Valley. Gobi was having a nice, peaceful day in the
shade when Grunty tied him to a rock. Normally he wouldn't care, because he doesn't move much
anyway, but it was out in the hot sun, and Gobi was miserable. Then Banjo and Kazooie came over
and set him free. That was the beginning of the rivalry. Gobi ran over to trunker the thirsty tree,
but didn't want to give away his water for the tree, but Banjo and Kazooie painfully stomped his
back and make him spit it all out. Then they stomped him again for a ring, and two more times at
Click Clock Wood. Then he ran to the lava world, which wasn't in Banjo-Kazooie, so they could
never get him...
Meanwhile, Klungo had been desperately trying to get that boulder off Grunty. When Grunty fell,
her spell casting ability was temperarily damaged. But after sitting under there for nearly a year,
she got her strength back. Then, she shot out a magic beam and the rock shattered. "Ha ha ha, I
am free, now I must seek revenge on Banjo and Kazooie!" By now, it was 1999, and the new
adventure, Banjo-Tooie, began.
In the lava world, Gobi was having second thoughts. He did need more water, and he wasn't going
to find any in a LAVA world. He was also very hot, like in the desert. The lava world is in a giant
volcano, so it was pretty hot in there. Still, things were mighty tranquil, and Gobi liked it. He had
also made a friend, Blarrg the lava dragon. You may remember him from past Mario games, but
now he's nice and he retired to the lava world.
Grunty wasted no time in thinking up a plan for revenge. First, she got a new broom, a better,
stronger, and more evil broom. She built a new lair, full of harder levels, more perplexing puzzels,
and more dangerous traps. This lair was not near her old one, it was over the mountain-side with
the waterfall near Spiral Mountain. Then she hatched a plan, she would threaten to destroy the
world unless Banjo and Kazooie challenged her to a rematch. Of coarse, this required going
through her long new lair, so they started their journey. On the way through the lair, they hit a
strange switch...
When Gobi heard that Banjo and Kazooie were coming, he was scared. He had just barely enough
water to survive in this lava land, so he knew that for one reason or another, Banjo and Kazooie
would stomp him to get it. So he ran to a place where he was sure they wouldn't go, in the levels
from the last game, Banjo-Kazooie.
So he decieded to go into a level with plenty of water, Treasure Trove Cove. He had been here
before, and it seemed about the same. He said hi to Captain Blubber who had opened a casino on
his ship with his treasure. But something was different. Snacker's rock seemed higher than usual.
Snacker was friends with Gobi, and preferred Bear over camel anyway, so Gobi safely swam over
to check it out. "Hey.." he said "I don't remember this cave being here, I wonder what's inside.."
Back at Spiral Mountain, Bottles and Tooty had seen Grunty escape from the boulder, so they
ran back to Banjo's house. There they saw a note: Dear Tooty: Gone to fight witch, again, Banjo.
"Oh no, the old hag's escaped!" said Tooty. "We've got to help him, the witch is probably much
more powerful, and they'll need more powerful moves!" Bottles said. But they didn't know where
the new lair was. Then they remembered the pictures that Mumbo showed them back a while ago.
"Mabey they're there..." Bottles said.
Gobi looked up and saw a giant platform, with a purple egg on top. "Hmm, that's like no item I've
ever seen, it may be a super egg for that bird...oh! That bear and bird! I hope they don't find me
here, this seems like a quiet place." Grunty could see Gobi through her magic cauldron. "Ohh the
camel, he makes me mad, he may reveal the secret, that would be bad! Bear and bird must not
know, of how to get there in Treasure Trove Cove! That purple egg, they cannot get, I'll teach
that camel a lesson he'll never forget!" So she got on her broom and rushed to TTC.
Banjo and Kazooie were stuck. They had gotten to a giant door, but this wasn't a note door, it was
a huge titanium door that couldn't be broken down or anything. It had a huge lock, but it couldn't
be reached. There were two switches near by, but they were too strong for Banjo and Kazooie,
they couldn't hold them down. They didn't know how to go farther through the lair past this door.
Suddenly they remembered the pictures that Mumbo showed them. They decieded to see if the
giant ice key could open the door.
Meanwhile, Mumbo was enjoying a relaxing game of checkers with the beehive that watched over
his hut in that winter. Just then, a twinkly bursted in. "Hey, what little Christmas light doing in
Mumbo's hut? Checkers is only 2 players, you have to wait." But the twinkly didn't want to play
checkers "Mumbo, Mumbo! Banjo-Tooie, it's, it's it's here!!!" "Wha, huh, who...oh, alright.
Mumbo must help Bear and Bird again. So he went out of his hut (the one in Frezzeezy Peak) and
put on the wading boots and went to find Banjo and Kazooie.
Grunty swooped down at Gobi and plucked him up. "You need a lesson, and that you'll get, foiling
with Grunty you will regret!" Gobi kicked and swung around, and this was too much for Grunty, so
she let go and he fell down on top of the platform with the egg. The weight shift made her spin out
of conrtol and smash into the wall, temperarily stunning her. "I wonder what this egg does, but it
may be something that the bear and bird could use to stomp me and steal my water...oh my.." then
he had an idea. "I'll store it in my hump, so they'll never get it!" So then, before Grunty could
regain consiousness, he ran out of Sharkfood island. "I'm sick of this, I'm going home!" So he
took off to Gobi's Valley.
Meanwhile, Tooty and Bottles were searching for Banjo and Kazooie but still no sign of them.
"This place seems deserted, I don;t even think Grunty's here anymore" Tooty said. So they kept
going, past all the old familiar levels. Then they came to Grunty's room, and they saw something
peculiar. They were plans for her new lair, and they had its exact location of it. "Let's go settle
this ourselves," Bottles said.Mumbo was walking through Freezeey peak and he found Banjo and Kazooie about to enter Wozza's cave. "Hey, Mumbo" Banjo said "How do we get the ice key, you can tell us now" "Oh, ok," Mumbo said, then he whispered it into their ears (sorry, you can't hear it yet...), but then he said "I'll need to transform you, though" So he changed them into a snowman. Banjo went in and got the ice key, and put it in his back pack. "Thanks skirt boy" Kazooie said. "That'll be 30 Mumbo tokens" They had just enough, so they paid him and headed back to the door. Gobi walked through Grunty's lair, and then that familiar tune came on. It was the Gobi's Valley version of the Grunty's Lair music, so he knew he was nearby. Then he saw the giant palm tree, and knew he was home. But something didn't seem right. It seemed that while he was gone, Grabba the mummy hand had been ruling the level with an iron fist (wrapped in Mummy wrap). He saw Gobi and immediately launched an attack on the intruder of his kingdom. He took off running, and ran over towards the locked door and crashed right through it! He ran and ran through this new area, when he realized that he was in a place he had never been. But the army of Buzz-bombs were tailing behind, so he hid a giant sarcophagus... Bottles and Tooty had finally caught up with Banjo and Kazooie. The ice key wasn't any good, though, because they couldn't reach the lock. Even Bottles said that no new move could get them past this part. Meanwhile, Gobi was hiding from the Buzz-bomb army, when he found another egg. He hid that one in his hump too, to make sure that Banjo and Kazooie didn't get that one too. Then the bees found him, and he took off running. They chased out of the level, out of the lair at that, and Gobi thought that they would never give up. Then he had an idea. "They wouldn't dare go in the lava world!" So he led them to Grunty's other lair, towards the lava world... Unfortunetely for Gobi, when he found the lava world Grunty was still rebuilding, and now a giant door stood betweem him and the lava world. Now, Grunty finally got together and was furious. Then he got a call from Klungo that said Banjo and Kazooie are almost at the top of her lair. "Her her her, they're close to the top, but I will make their journey stop!" With that, she flew back up to her lair. What she didn't know was that Gobi was also near the top, coming ever so closer with the Buzz-Bombs close behind. Gobi, huffing and puffing, stopped suddenly at the door, the same door Banjo, Kazooi, Bottles, and Tooty happened to be stuck at. "Hey, it's that stupid camel" Kazooie said. "Mabey he has some water for us to use for something.." "NO NO NO!!!" Cried Gobi, but before he could do anything, WHAM!! they stomped on his back, and out popped the two eggs, which landed on the switches, holding them down. The switches caused platforms to rise up so they could reach the lock. "So that's what those eggs were for" Banjo said. They opened the door, and there stood Grunty. "Your quest stops here, my furry friend. And it will come to a terrible end. Now prepare to meet my wrath, so now..what is that?!? The Buzz-bombs charged over and couldn't stop, so WHAM! right into Grunty. They crashed out the other wall, knocking a big chunk off the wall and making Grunty fall back to the bottom, getting squashed by the boulder. "Grunty's fate this should not be, I'll get you for this, Banjo and Kazooie! So Grunty was trapped under the boulder, once again, and Banjo and Kazooie went home. Gobi decieded that this was enough for him. He went back home. There Grabba had been dethroned by Jinxy, so everything was normal. Gobi thought to himself, "it's finally over". A few days later, he went to visit his friend, Blarrg, in the lava world. They were cruising along, and they came to a door. It had never been opened. Gobi asked "What's in there?". Blarrg said "Hmm...I don't know.". There was a little sign on it. It read:
"So you're wondering how to get inside? If anyone told you, they lied. It's a secret you cannot be obtain, not until the very next game!" Then there was an evil cackle heard, that seemed to echo all around them...
