Vampires, Kindred, the Undead, whatever you may call them, they are all powerful beings that feed off of the blood (essence) of Humans, MetaHumans, and animals of the Earth. Some even feed off of other Vampires. But the one constant is that they need the Essence of another to survive. Some Vampires are lone hunters, feeding off of they prey, and keeping from society. Some Vampires form a group of Vampires and hunt in a Pack, or Clan which ensures that as long as there is good hunting, everyone will survive, and protect their bretheren. Some of the most dangerous Vampires are the ones who believe that they are superior to the Mortals, and they kill humans not only to feed, but to strike fear in the hearts of (Meta)Humanity in order to survive off of their fear. And yet some (and a growing number of them) have went into the society of the Mortal, and these Vampires coexist, feeding off of donated blood, the blood of animals, and through "volenteers" that let the Vampires feed off of them, as long as they get paid, and the Vampires does not drain the person of all of his blood. Many are hunted by people who consider Vampires a threat to society, or demonic beings sent from Hell. It is these "hunters" that drive a wedge between the Kindred society, and the Mortal society. The "hunters" say they are trying to save humanity, but some believe they are really starting a war. There are even rumors of a certain vampire that has began to create a growing army of loyal followers to save their race if a war comes.

There is just one this that everyone must remember in order to survive contact with vampires in the awakened world. Most of them are not the cold-blooded killers that the average (meta)human believes they are. Many are just trying to live as normal of a life as they can.
