3.0 HOW TO USE
What you see is what you get! The best way to learn the program is to run it. Every time you
click on an option, you see the result immediately.

You control the type(format) of graph: rectangular, polar,or semilog. The rectangular format
draws a grid of squares. The number of major divisions is predetermined to give a nice layout on the page. However, you can specify 4,5, or 10 minor divisions per major division.

The page layout section is probably the most unique feature of GraphTablet. This allows you
to generate from 1 to 4 grids per page. Ideal for doing those short homework problems. As the
number of grids changes, the program automatically adjusts the sizing for a pleasing layout.

You control the color of the gridlines. The major grid line color is shown in the large
rectangle to the left. The minor grid line color is shown in the the large rectangle
to the right. To change color, first click on either of the two large rectangles, then click
on one of the color squares below. The new color will be immediately used.

The PRINT button invokes the standard Windows print dialog. The README button contains
information about the author, and the CLOSE button terminates the program.

Known bug: The program assumes Letter size paper (8.5x11 in). It has been pointed out that many
places outside (and perhaps even in) the US use other paper sizes. This results in rectangles rather than squares. As a temporary fix, if you use A4 paper, go into your printer/paper setup
and select a custom paper size of 210x272mm. This will give you squares with an added border of 25 mm on the right side.

4.0 FAQ

Q: Why did you write GraphTablet?
A: I was tired of going to the store to buy graph paper for my kids.

Q: Can I install the program on a school server for all to use?
A: Sure. The more, the merrier; no fees required. Give copies of
the program to as many people as you like. Ditto shareware
   collections, libraries.

Q: Why don't the colors from the printer match the screen colors?
A: Depending on your printer, the colors may not match. You can
attempt to get a better match by entering the ControlPanel/Printers,
selecting your printer, and adjusting the parameters specific for your
printer. However, don't expect to get an exact match.

Q: Great! I've got my grid setup, now how do I enter my data into the computer for
   automatic plotting?
A: You don't! GraphTablet's sole purpose is to generate blank grids so that you
can plot the data by hand. There are many programs (shareware, commercial) that
will let you enter your data into a table or a spreadsheet and then generate a plot
for you. But they are also much bigger, and awkward for generating blank
grid paper to meet students' needs.

Q: I really need SemiLog or LogLog paper. Can you help me?
A2: Due to popular demand, I've added SemiLog. I suspect this will cover >95% of all
student graph paper needs. However, I'm still open to new formats. Let me know.

Q: How do I customize line colors beyond the 5 choices shown?
A: In order to keep the interface simple, that option was not included.

Q: I'm a teacher or student, and I have an idea for a small program. Can you do it?
A: Email me and, depending on my current projects, maybe.

Q: Where is the software license?
A: I think the world has enough software licenses!
Just remember the copyright is mine! ALL MINE!
