The heroThe hero and leader of the group. He begins his journey when he frees the mana sword the kept the world in balance. Because he destroyed the balance, he was banished from his village. He is strong in physical attacks and cannot use magic. because of this he should be used as a damage magnet while the sprite and girl use magic. The best weapon for him is the sword or whip.

The girlA young girl who joins you either when you save her in the haunted forest, or when you meet her in Pandora castle. With her healing skills, she proves to be useful. The girl is weak in physical attacks but excels in magic. Because her magics focus on healing, keep her settings on keep away and defend. The best weapon for the girl is the spear.

The spriteThe sprite hails from the underground dwarf city, scamming people out of thier money. When the boy arrived he found out their scam and later saved him from tropicallo. Afterwords the sprite joined him. The sprite is the offensive magic caster of the group, but he is still a decent fighter even though his defense is low. Keep him in the middle of the grid. His best weapon is either the glove or axe.

Joch the sageThe sage in the lofty mountains. He lives on the peak above the palace of darkness. About half way through the game he will give you several tests. Most of them involve visiting a palace.

MaraA woman who lives in south town. While she acts like a hermit, she really works for the resistance. Her husband was arrested by the empire several years ago after stealing the key to the tower of light and Mara carried on his work.

King truffleThe king of matango. He belives that the boy, girl, and sprite are the 3 heros of the legend. He helps you find flammie, and then delivers him to you when he gets big enough to fly.

Jema of the tasnican soldiersA former tasnican soldier who stepped down when his freind was killed in combat. In the first portion of the game he appears several times to guide you. Afterwords he departs for tasnica and isnt seen until you finish jochs test.

Watts the blacksmithA blacksmith who has taken up residence in dwarf city (although he appears in final fantasy adventure in a different dwarf city) and will sell you an axe. Later he fill forge better weapons with the orbs you find.

Luka, the sage of waterThe keeper of the water palace. she will give you the javalen and heal you when needed. Many events will transipre in the water palace.

Emperor VandoleThe ruler of north town, south town, and the gold isle. He, along with his bodyguards, sold thier souls to the underworld in exchange for strength and an army of monsters. He makes few appearances throughout the game. He is considered evil, but he is merely a puppet of a greater evil.

GeshtarOne of four guards of the emporer. Geshtar is the first of the guards you will run into. He may seem powerful, but like the emperor is only a servent of evil. He attacks on mechriders 3 times in the game, and sends several beasts after you.

SheexThe second guard of the emporer, he posseses shapeshifting powers. He came from the underworld to strike a deal with the emperor, and began to work for him. Sheex also holds mana magic and extremly strong. You will find him twice although he wont reveal himself until the second time around.

FahnaThe third bodyguard of the the emperor. She isnt seen until you finish the grand palace. Her real form is a serpent with poison attacks. She understands little about her supernatural powers, and even less of the higher evil that is controlling her.

ThanatosThe most powerful guard of the emporer. He is an ancient warlock that has changed bodies hundreds of times. He doesnt demonstrate his true power until the mana fortress. His current body is becoming weak and must find a new host before the body dies. He may look like a guard of the emperor, but he is the true evil of the empire.

UndineThe elemental of water, she meets the group in the water cave near the water palace and grants them water magic and the javalen. Becuase of the evil influence, she is losing her powers.

GnomeThe elemental of earth, and, as far as we know, the sage of the earth palace. He may seem like a nuisance, but he grants some of the most valuable magic in the game.

SylphidThe wind elemental. He had served the sage of wind, the sprites grandfather, for several years until the empire attacked. Weakened of his strength, and stripped of his eyesight, he turned over sylphid to the sprite and the girl.

SalamandoThe elemental of fire. Not much is revealed about the fiery being, but it is known that he is freindly to the people of Kakkara, and even more freindly to the party after they free him from the scorpion army.

ShadeThe elemental of darkness, he does not grant his dark magic to anyone. Only the ones who pass his bodyguards are granted the powers of darkness, and wouldn't you know it, the heros are the first to ever do this. There is no explanation of why only the sprite gains his magic, but my guess is that all of his magic is offensive, and the sprite is much better at casting offensive magic. And i thought the elementals only gave themselves to the mana kinghts.

LuminaThe elemental of light. She Was in captivity of the empire until the group freed her. Forced to keep the gold isle gold, drained her of her powers and could only entust the powers of light to one person.

LunaThe elemantal of...the moon? She resides in the crumbling moon palace without light. She talks little when the party arrives, as she knows they are the ones when they light up the palace.

DryadThe mana/tree elemental. He (or she?) resides in the grand/mana/tree/lost palace on the lost continent. Dryad's main magic was sealed by Thanatos, but it still joins the party before the continent rises.
