AVATAR
well the big guy it a tough one.  he's immune to all heat & bio based weapons, has a sword that can reach 12", 50% chance of saving, and his stats are out of control.  Yet I've killed one in the first round (barely).  The trick is to make the most non-heat attacks as possible while staying 12" away.  my first round kill was made by a dreadnought with 2 lascannon upgrades.  The heavy bolter was effective, but he made the saves.  When I ripped into him with the las luck was on my side, he rolled a 1 & 3 failed them both.  You have a 50/50 chance of taking it out (specially with the grabba stick).
The most effective weapons I've seen are:
#1 lascannons
#2 twin linked autocannons
#3 krack missiles
#4 runtherded grabba stick (believe it on not)
#5 shock attack cannon (can auto kill)
and if all else fails
#6 ram it with a tank
NOTE: an Avatar is as big as a dred or tank.  Try dropping him on enemy troops with a smasha cannon.
CHARACTERS
Possibly the Eldar's weakest link (excepted the Avatar).  If an exarch is over 50 points, it's worth 1vp.  Most players will kick up there exarchs as much as possible.  Most of the others characters are over 100.  A multi-melta or Autocannons can take most of them out.  I like to use Autocannon, there cheaper and have a better range.  Psycannons are great for farseers and warlocks.
WARP SPIDERS
Spiders are a royal pain.  Hit and run with the Deathspinner was a bad idea.  There weak in HTH (oh no, not a combat knife), but it's hard to engage in HTH when they can warp 18".  Mounted mobs can help close this gap.  Snakebites mounted on cybores are perfect (they can charge 20").  It's a good Idea to put some boys in overwatch with flamers or bolter/flamer kombi weapons.  You can shoot on your opponents movement phase when in overwatch with a -1.  Flamers auto hit and can set it's target on fire.  Fire panic is fun with Warpspiders because the warp to there max and can be lost while warping.  And last but not least, destroy all cover.  There easy to take out when they cant hide.
WRAITH GUARDS
Wraiths are pretty cut and dry.  Stay a way or get relocated.  If there is a ton of them, say 3 to 5 squads, take out all living Eldar.  If there are no living Eldar on the table they shutdown and you win.  Now if there are only 1 or 2 hang back and shoot them first.  Use a multi-melta, krack missiles or my fav. the Autocannon.  There is a reference to the Soulstone implosion that says it will suck in other Soulstone but not the robot body.
STRIKING SCORPIONS
&
HOWLING BANSHEES
I put these two together because they are almost the same.  These close combatants can kill you before you can defend your self.  The mekboys Force Field Projecta is perfect for this.  Set it to block so they have go around.  On your turn shut it down, blast away at them, turn it back on again in a new position that makes the survivors have to go around it again.  The weapons of choice are a heavy bolter with hellfire shells (2+ to wound & 2" blast) or an autocannon (sustained fire).
HARLEQUINS
&
HARLEQUINS ON JET BIKES
Harlequin holo suits make them hard to hit (-1).  I use Bad Moonz with flamers.  Take pot shots at them with the bolt pistol till they are in flamer range.  And Bad Moon Nobz in Mega-armor with Heavy Bolter (Hellfire shells).  Mega-armor has a targeter (+1 to hit) to take care of the holo suits.  Jet Bikes are fun to screw with.  Use Mekboy with a Force Field Projekta.  On your turn, if your opponent is in combat speed turn on the F.F.P. right in front of them.  When they crash into it, they take the ram damage.
