M-120 Armoured Car/MT-1 Hell Peacock
RPG Stats and Background by: Rick R. Mortis.
Technical Info from the Robotech Technical Files, by Robert Morgenstern.
BACKGROUND
The M-120 was developed by the ASC in the early 2010s to replace the RDF's obsolete M-116 AARV. The M-116 had been shown to have very little battlefield surviability against even the most lightly armed mecha. Addtionally, it's crapmed crew aspce and weak aranamnt made it very unpopular. The M-120 was based on the Fiat 6636 whcih was used by many nations during the Global Civil war, but modified to take advantage of advances in technology since then. While the design of the vehichle was relatively simple, it was effective enough. The sole arnament of the vehicle was a 25mm Autocannon, the same as the weapon mounted on the Exculiber Destroid.
To provide missile and anti-aircraft support for the ASC's ground forces and to supplement the MLRS-5 Missile Launcher, the ASC devised a variant of this vehcile, the MT-1 Hell Peacock. The Hell Peacock replaced the 25mm Cannon with a Short-Range missile launcher.
As the RDF kept a close eye on the development and deployment of Protoculture-Powered mecha, the M-120 and MT-1 made for viable, cost-effective weapons that allowed the ASC to build up its forces with relaitively few problems. Even after the ASC was legitimised by the UEG in 2019, the these vehciles reamined in production along side the MLRS-5 and M-9 Inca. Hundreds of M-120s and MT-1s were built for the Tactical Corps, Civil Defece Corps and various other armies between 2002 and 2030. They served the ASC well up until the Invid invasion in various roles. Unfortuantely, these vehciles proved to be no match for the Robotech Master's Bioroids and the Invid Mecha, and many were destroyed. Many remained in service with Resistance groups and local Authourities throughout the Invids Occpation.

WEAPON SYSTEMS
(M-120)
25mm Autocannon, The M-120 carries a 25mm cannon, mounted on the roof. The cannon can turn 90 degrees to either side, and 45 degrees up or down.
- Purpose: Assault/Anti-personell
- Range: 1200m
- Mega-Damage: 2D4 MD for a short burst, 4D4 MD for a long burst, 6D4 MD for a full melee burst.
- Rate of Fire: Equal to the pilots total number of attacks.
- Payload: 200 rounds - a short burst uses up 10 rounds, a long burst uses 20 and a full melee burst uses 30.
(MT-1)
Short-Range Missile Launcher. The MT-1 is equipped with a short-range missile launcher.
- Purpose: Anti-Aircraft.
- Missile Type: Any type of SRM can be used.
- Range: Depends on missile type
- Mega-Damage: Depends on missile type
- Rate of Fire: One at a time, or in volleys of 2, 4 or 6.
- Payload: 6 missiles
STANDARD EQUIPMENT FOR THE M-120 AND MT-1:
- Radar: Range: 50 km. Standard operation.
- Radio/Video Communications: Wide band, directional radio and video telecast capabilities. Range: 1000km, or can be boosted by satellite.
- Laser Targeting System: Close range; 3 km
- External Audio Pickup: Range: 300 ft (91.5 m). A sound amplification system that can pick up normal conversation up to 300 feet away.
- Loudspeaker: A loudspeaker system is built into the craft, which can be used to amplify the pilot's voice up to 90 decibels.
- Searchlight: Range: 50 meters.
- Optics: Infrared: Range: 2000 feet (610 m). This optical system projects a beam of infrared light that is invisible to the normal eye, but detectable by the mecha's sensors. The system allows the pilot to detect hidden/concealed objects by their IR reflectiveness. The beam will be visible to anyone with IR sensitive optics, however.
- Optics: Nightvision: Range: 2000 feet (610 m). A passive light image intensifier that emits no light of its own, but relies on ambient light which is electronically amplified to produce a visible picture.
- Optics: Thermal Imager: Range: 2000 feet (610 m). A passive optical heat sensor that detects infrared radiation projected by warm objects and converts that data into a false-colour visible image. The system enables the pilot to see in the dark, in shadows, and through smoke, and also adds a +10% bonus to pilots using a tracking skill.

Conversion Notes
There is no hard data on these vehciles. They do bear some resmblance to the modern Fiat 6636 APC which served as the basis for some of the info in this file. The MT-1s name comes from a Fansub edition of MZ23 Part 1 and should be veiwed as dupious at best.
