TPA-01 Triton Tactical Power Armour
RPG Stats and Background by: Rick R. Mortis.
Technical Info from the Robotech Technical Files, by Robert Morgenstern.
BACKGROUND
To provide the Marsh Division with some heavier firepower that was not limited by the treacherous terrain in which they operated, the Triton was designed to be flexible, multi-role armour for infiltration/assassination missions. The suit was designed to operate in small numbers without support. To support the multi-role capability, a number of reconfigurable modules were developed based on the mission desired. Sniper, Assault, and Lake Superiority modules were developed.
The Sniper configuration allowed small squads to patrol large areas of marsh land and to intimidate any insurgents from causing sufficient problems for the regional governments. The Assault configuration is the standard heavy attack module used by the Triton. This provides respectable firepower for such a small platform, although the weapon systems made the armour bulky to manoeuvre. The Lake Superiority configuration was used by the Marsh Division for lake, river and swampland patrolling.
The Triton was only produced in very limited numbers by the ASC. Many survived the Second Robotech War, and were used by freedom fighters against the invid. Their small size and comparitively high firepower made them a particular faveourite.

STANDARD EQUIPMENT FOR THE TRITON:
- Radar: Range: 30 km. Standard operation.
- Radio/Video Communications: Wide band, directional radio and video telecast capabilities. Range: 1000km, or can be boosted by satellite.
- Laser Targeting System: Close range; 1 km
- Combat Computer: Calculates, stores & monitors data on the control panel computer screen or Heads-up display
- External Audio Pickup: Range: 300 ft (91.5 m). A sound amplification system that can pick up normal conversation up to 300 feet away.
- Loudspeaker: A loudspeaker system is built into the craft, which can be used to amplify the pilot's voice up to 90 decibels.
- Optics: Infrared: Range: 2000 feet (610 m). This optical system projects a beam of infrared light that is invisible to the normal eye, but detectable by the mecha's sensors. The system allows the pilot to detect hidden/concealed objects by their IR reflectiveness. The beam will be visible to anyone with IR sensitive optics, however.
- Optics: Nightvision: Range: 2000 feet (610 m). A passive light image intensifier that emits no light of its own, but relies on ambient light which is electronically amplified to produce a visible picture.
- Optics: Thermal Imager: Range: 2000 feet (610 m). A passive optical heat sensor that detects infrared radiation projected by warm objects and converts that data into a false-colour visible image. The system enables the pilot to see in the dark, in shadows, and through smoke, and also adds a +10% bonus to pilots using a tracking skill.
- Protoculture Engine: The Triton is powered by Protoculture power cells.
HAND TO HAND COMBAT BONUSES FOR POWER ARMOUR COMBAT TRAINING:

- +1 to strike
- +2 to parry
- +3 ro dodge
- +2 to rolll with a punch or impact, reducing damage by half
- Critical strike same as pilot's hand to hand.

Conversion Notes
This mecha was completely omitted from the RPG. This is not surprising, as the only info on it in This Is Animation #10 is a line in the descriotion of the Tatical Corps Marsh Division stating "the mecha of the Marsh Division is the Triton". No data or pictures of it are known to exist. The info here is pure peculation.
