The group find telephone poles and follows them into a hot dry desert. The group is tired and hot. Izzy notices that the sand is not normal. It's mixed with tiny bits of metal. Mimi takes out her watch, but it's actually a compass watch. The needle is spinning crazily. "For someone that doesn't need a compass, you sure have a lot," Tai says. Mimi sees Palmon not looking too good. She offers her big 'cowboy' hat to Palmon. Palmon wears it and is much relieved. Biyomon can't take anymore of this hear. Everyone agrees. Sora says," stay positive, let's all think it's raining!" Biyomon snaps out of her gloomy state and runs over and hugs Sora's leg, all happy and relieved. The group finds it dumb to keep on walking. Just then one of the flying black gears flies over head and crashes into the mountain, not far away. Tai brings out his mini telescope and looks around. He sees something! It's a village! They all are renewed with hope to find people, civilization instead of Digimon. They want to go home.
The animation cuts to a black gear, spinning into a rocky hill. It spins and spins and finally breaks through the hill. A flaming Digimon turns around and sees the gear heading straight towards him. The gear comes too fast, no time to dodge. The gear makes it's way to the flaming Digimon's chest and spins until it's inside the Digimon. The Digimon screams in agony.
They are stunned. The group made it toward the village they saw so far away. They tower above the village. "Gee, this village looked bigger from far away," Tai sadly says. Little pink radish-like things start to come forward. They're Yokomon! The previous form of Biyomon. Biyomon communicates with the Yokomons. "Yes, we know they look funny. But in spite of this they're really nice." Biyomon explains what Sora and her friends are. "If you are not Digimon then what are you doing in the Digi World?" The Yokomons all ask. The group doesn't even know what to say. Mimi just thinks they are so cute. She wants to bring one home and put it on her bed.
The Yokomon ask Biyomon questions on how she digi-volved. She tells them how she digi-volved to save her friend Sora. The Yokomon notice Biyomon doesn't speak like them. Biyomon says she picked up from Sora, she and her are best friends. Sora listens to them close by. "So they digi-volve cause of us....we're lucky kids!" she smiles. Biyomon also tells them that her friend Sora and her friends are trying to find home. The Yokomons are happy to let the group stay. They offer the group, refreshing water.
"Wow! A fresh water fountain!" TK says in excitement. The group walk over to the fountain. From it, fresh clear water! The Yokomons say that it is a special kind of water. The water comes from a lake on Mt. Nerawshi. "Best in the galaxy," Tentomon comments. They are about to get some, but suddenly flames shoot up. Luckily no one was hurt. "The water evaporated. That's okay the lake's full of water," One Yokomon says. They all run over to the lake with half of a boat sticking up, *GASP!* All the water's gone! They try the well. Tai drops the bucket, at the end of the well they hear a *CLUNK* Empty. He pulls the bucket back up, but the bucket is missing all that's left is a burnt rope. Flames shoot out of the well.
The group remembers the flying gear, could it have something to do with the water disappearing? "It crashed on a hill side," Izzy comments. They all think maybe the gear crashed into Mt. Nerawshi. The Yokomon say the water is guarded by a firey Digimon called Meramon. Tai takes out his mini telescope and checks out the Mountain. He sees something. Something's falling down the mountain. It looks like a human figure with flames and a flaming head with stitches on it's mouth. "He's coming! He's coming our way!" Tai sees, a firey Digimon that's coming down Mt. Nerawshi. "He'll burn everything he touches! This is very strange. He never comes down the Mountain!" The Yokomon say and they jump up and down with fear. "Too hot....too hot. I'm too hot!" "It looks like he's crying" Tai comments. "Meramon is a firey Digimon. He shouldn't feel any pain from his own flames. That's his nature," Palmn explains. "Sounds like he's mad with pain!" Tai says.
Meramon reaches the desert. Sora commands everyone to freeze. "Don't move a muscle" When Meramon reaches closer to them Tai yells out, "Unfreeze and run!" All the Yokomons are screaming and bouncing up and down with fear. They all make a huge pile toward the ship. A huge pink broad line is running straight toward the ship. "Easy now you'll be okay," Tai says to the bewildered Yokomon. Tai and Sora are standing at the entrance to the ship. "Move to the rear," Sora commands. On the ship, Matt, TK, Izzy, Mimi and Joe are there. "There's room enough for everyone, stop squirming!" Matt says. "Who's not here?" Sora asks, when all the Yokomon are in the ship. Sora realizes Biyomon is still up on the hill instructing the last of the Yokomons to go to the ship. "Biyomon save yourself!" Sora calls out. "I can't leave here until all my friends are safe, Sora," Biyomon says. "Well then, I'll have to come up there with you." Sora runs toward Biyomon. When all the Yokomon are gone, Biyomon sighs a sigh of relief. "Ah good, they're all safe."
"Watch out Biyomon, he's right behind you!" Sora calls out. Meramon appears behind Biyomon, he swipes at her. Biyomon rolls down the cliff. Sora leaps and catches Biyomon "Are you okay?" "I hope, I don't do that again. That wasn't really fun. Thanks for coming and saving me," Biyomon thanks Sora. "Don't mention it, that's what friends are for" Sora says. "My friend." They hug. Meramon is still a threat. Biyomon flys up towards him. "It's my turn to save you now," She calls. "SPIRAL TWISTER!" and it shoots on his chest. "Take that, and that and that!" Meramon doesn't seem to be hurt, "is that the best you can do?!" The other digimon come out and attack Meramon. Meramon forms a ball of fire on his hand, "Fire ball!" and throws it at Biyomon. She falls down to the ground. The others attack but it just seems to make Meramon grow stronger and larger.
"If we figure out why he's crying maybe we can help him out, I'm guessing it isn't hurt burn" Tai says. "Maybe this monster just has growing pains," Matt comments. "Growing Pains?! Matt this isn't a good time to joke" Joe says. Meramon decides to burn down the ship and he jumps toward the ship. At that moment Biyomon wakes up and sees Meramon decending towards the ship. "We're all in trouble now. Meramon cannot be allowed to win." Izzy notices Sora's digi-vice shining with a bright light. The screen goes black and a digi-vice is screaming, data is formed into a spiral and inserts itself into Biyomon. Biyomon digi-volve to...BIRDRAMON!!! Birdramon flys up and pushes Meramon away and back up to the hill. "We'll be safe now, Biyomon digi-volved to rescue us," Sora explains. Birdramon flys toward Meramon again, Meramon throws a fire ball at Birdramon's wing. "Move away Birdramon!" Sora suggests. Birdramon follows her commands and charges up for an attack. "METEOR WINGS!" Birdramon unleashes a rain of fireballs at Meramon. It drives out a black gear inside his chest, once out the gear is destroyed into tiny pices. Birdramon digi-volves back and flys into Sora's arms. "Are you alright?" Biyomon asks. Biyomon hugs Sora, "oh Sora."
Meramon is sitting down and it seems he's having a bad head ache. He explains he couldn't stop himself. The last thing he remembered was a black gear hitting him. After telling everyone what happened, Meramon heads back up to Mt. Nerawshi. At night, everyone is very cheerful. They give everyone a bowl of what seems like grains of bird seed. Nobody really want to eat it. TK is just glad it tastes better than broccili, he chows down. Matt is so hungry he eats it anyway. "I'm not sure what the stuff is but I'm sure I'm allergic to it," Joe comments. Everyone laughs. Sora is thinking what happened today and she looks over at Biyomon eating. "For being so little, she sure has a big heart."
