A Who's Who of the Kyon-Shi |
The first battle of Chapter 3 takes place in the graveyard of the cursed town of Quonus. Kahn will tell you that the Kyon-Shi (zombies) are in fact the villagers controlled by the Vandal. He asks you to avoid killing them, leting him deal with the situation with his Treasure Orb of Elbesem. Kahn will neutralize them, instead of killing them. To be sure Kahn will not go wandering aimlessly instead of taking care of the Kyon-Shi, you need to know this: Kahn always follows Synbios. Have Synbios equipped with the Life Ring and take him close to one or many Kyon-Shi. He will be attacked, but will regain 2 HP each turn, and will lead Kahn to the Kyon-Shi. The rumor that circulated about Noon joining you only if you killed no Kyon-Shi was false. The truth behind it is that Noon himself has been turned Kyon-Shi. If you don't kill him while in Kyon-Shi form, he will join you. I still strongly advise not killing any, since the 3 shopkeepers and the Priest are also among the Kyon-Shi. Also, it gives Kahn 10 EXP for each Kyon-Shi neutralized intact, less if the Kyon-Shi is wounded. Below is a map to help identify the true identities of the Kyon-Shi. Keep in mind that the relative positions are the positions occupied at the BEGINNING of the battle, and the Kyon-Shi will move and trade places during the battle, so you will need to keep track of who's who during the battle if you intend to select who you kill. The map is far from precise, but the relative positions of the Kyon-Shi are accurate. |
