Getting the Ship's Key
In Flagard, you will confront Fiale in a room with Synbios's father, Conrad, sitting in a chair.  Fiale is equipped with the Torture Rod and holds the Ship's Key.  If Synbios is strong enough, have him attack Fiale at the very beginning of the battle, instead of regrouping with the rest of the Force.  When you hit Fiale, he will drop the Key.  I suggest retreating as soon as you have the Key (have the next fighter use an Angel's Wing) since Fiale is a HEAVY HITTER, and there will be Mask Monks coming after you !  After retreating, save the game and return to the battle !
Item description:

Name: Ship's Key
Description (as written in dialog box): "A key with an anchor on it...?".
What's the use ?

It serves to free General Rogan from death in Scenario 2.  Give it to Eldar until after Chapter 5 intro (Thanks to NightBird from the Forum for this one...).
Info about FIALE

When fighting Fiale for the first time (in the room with Conrad, in Flagard), you can attack him, and obtain the Ship's Key at first hit.  But if Synbios is strong enough, and you decide to beat the crap outta Fiale while the others are fighting, here's a few things you should know:

-FIALE     120 HP     90 MP
     Spark LV 2
Wendigo LV 2  (not used in this battle)
     Torture Rod equipped
carries Ship's Key (see above for more info)

-Essentially, Fiale CAN'T be defeated in this battle.  No matter how strong the attacks or the attacker, Fiale will teleport before being killed.  I attacked him with Synbios (LV 11 promoted from LV 20 - Blade LV3, Sword LV3, Knife LV3) and got 30 HP hits on him every time.  At the last attack, he was down to 23 HP and I performed a Melt Armor special (with the Luster Blade), an attack which had scored at least 33 HP damage on him in a previous attack.  This attack scored 22 HP damage, leaving him with 1 HP.  Then he teleported away.  No attack I performed could reduce him to 0 HP, no matter how powerful the attack.  His survival must be essential to the storyline...
