A Brief History of the Vorpal Bunny:

The Vorpal Bunny has its roots, as some have guessed, in the Vorpal Duck. The Vorpal Duck came about when Radix, an ArchMage of Arcana, mentioned over house channel that he hated ducks. Adorno brought forth as many ducks as he could to invade Arcana and drive Radix crazy. I told Adorno that we didn't really need so much an invasion of little, easy-to-kill ducks, as one duck, the Vorpal Duck. I created the Vorpal Duck as a toy for us to use in hassling Radix, but it turned out to be mostly Adorno's toy. When Radix passed from Thera, there was Rupprecht and his hatred of Ducks, and Gelfing and his. That the Vorpal Duck could cast powerful spells often brought about suggestions of inducting him into Arcana, but such an induction never took place.

One day I overheard Restin mentioning over Crusader house channel that he didn't like bunnies, and the first thought that came to mind was, Vorpal Bunny. I immediately cloned the Vorpal Duck in the area file, giving this new creature a description and sort of a life of its own, and the next chance I got, loaded him up and went to visit the Keep. I expected a half hour's worth of hassling, and I'd be done with the thing for a while... Can we say 4 hours? I didn't get much sleep that night, but I laughed so hard it was difficult to keep up with the typing. At no time did the Bunny ever start a fight, at no time did the Bunny ever cast a spell. It was just a cute little fuzzy bunny. Well, actually, as Restin put it, it wasn't just a bunny, it was THE Bunny. And it was plain, after the first 4-hour session, that it couldn't be just a one shot deal.

I hope that those of you who take the time to read the logs (the various chapters) have as much fun and laugh as much as we who were directly involved with Vorthin. I cut some parts out (such as the actual words of the Crusader Meeting to retain the integrity of that House, and the many long room descriptions between the Castle Balkra and the Strange Carnival to retain interest), but kept to the story. Where I thought some of the lines were a bit obscure, as when certain socials don't really give the proper information to specify who is being done what to, I tried to put in a name to clarify.

And for those of you who think the Vorpal Bunny will not return because Restin ascended... think again. As the Vorpal Bunny's saga unfolds, it is plain to see that Restin may have started it, but the rest of his House adopted the little beast, and Vorthin belongs to Crusader House as surely as Kug and Kagemusha and the Gauntlet.
