Mar'lye M'Gorn, Elvenhame Roving Reporter: Terror Strikes the Elvenhame Bank!! Sun May 4 21:19:50 2003 To: All by Mar'lye M'Gorn, Elvenhame Roving Reporter About Elvenhame the earth shook with a might which many felt rivaled even the gods might. A great explosion left many impressions upon those around Thera today, but most of all it left dust and wreckage in the wake of a gaping hole beneath the town, where there stood the once solid vault of the bank. At 11:21:10 am, Day of the Great Gods, this 27th of the Month of Futility, in the year 2, the Elvenhame bank vault, the depository for all of the richest Therans, was robbed. Witnesses say that an enormous explosion was heard in the city and that by the time anyone got there, the bandits had made off with at least a quarter of a hundred million gold. Needles to say, this comes as a shock to Shindil, the Elvenhame bank president, who has kept gold safe in this vault since its very inception. Although the heist has taken place only days after Shindil's announcement of the 10 Richest Therans, he denies accusations that his report was the taunting instigator of the theft. An investigator from the local Elvenhame Cityguard Office has been called in to try and deduce from the clues left at the scene exactly 1. Who conducted the crime 2. Why they did it, and 3. How they did it, so that action can be taken. If you have any information which could help solve this mystery, you are encouraged to contact the House Enforcer whose protectorate is still seeking those at large, and who are working with the Elvenhame Cityguard.
Iron Mask In Danger Of Annihilation (12.06.03) The peoples of Thera are gathering in discussion about the fate of the dreaded Iron Mask, used in ancient times to punish mages, and now said to be stolen from its safe repository for use in abusing mages. As the population, which usually thrives on bloodletting and veneration of the strong, rises up against the use of this dreaded implement of torture and mental destruction, crying out against the loss of hard-earned mastery achieved in a state of mostly boring repetition which has, according to some, rendered certain minds numb against original and creative thought, a minority seeks to learn if there is a way to stave off the forces of pablumonium. A small, secretive sect devoted to saving the Iron Mask walks among the populace, hoping to keep the forces of juvenile whininess from destroying an ancient artifact of great power. Will they succeed? Will the Iron Mask remain untouched by modern hands, pure in its original creation? Or will the emotional cries of immature mages who spent too much time in their guilds and not enough time learning social graces succeed in destroying a piece of Thera's history?
