My heart is now broken,

My mind is filled with sorrow,

I’ve had a terrible day today.

What could be worse? Tomorrow?

My girlfriend left me for another man.

She was soon a bride to be!

I loved her with all of my heart.

How could she do this to me?

My car broke down and ran out of gas.

I was definitely late for work.

And when I got there, three hours later,

My boss was waiting with a smirk.

“These are the kinds of things”, he said,

“That make me sick and tired.

“So go in your office and pack your stuff.

“I’m sorry sir, but you are fired.”

In there I went, packing my stuff.

I was out within an hour.

As I desperately tried to catch a bus,

My blood pressure began to tower.

I went to a restaurant for some food.

The waitress was being a snob.

And when I got home I quickly realized

That my place had just been robbed.

I walked in and looked around.

There was nothing that I could say.

All I could do was to look up.

I knelt, and began to pray.

I said, “Dear Great God Almighty,

This has been one heck of a day.

All I ask is for you to fix this mess,

In Jesus’ name, I pray.”

I called the police, then I went to the store,

The lottery was never for me.

But I bought one anyway to match the day.

Oh, what harm could it be?

The police left later that night.

I went home and heard not a peep.

I was exhausted from such a terrible day,

And I was ready for some sleep.

The robbers took many things,

But not my comfortable bed.

I knelt beside it, and prayed to God,

And this is what I said.

“Oh Dearest Gracious Lord,

What a mess I had today.

I don’t think things could get much worse

I think I can honestly say.”

“I curse you wicked evil devil

In the name of Jesus Christ.

He can fix all of your wrong-doings. I

wouldn’t even try to fight.”

“And if you try, you’ll waste your time.

You will end up beaten and bruised.

And God once again will be victorious.

You already know you will lose.”

“I ask of you God to make things better,

I inquire and proclaim,

That I know I can always count on you

I pray in Jesus’ name.”

I went to sleep shortly after.

And because I didn’t disobey,

The Lord gave me excellent news

The next and following day.

I watched the news in the morning.

Oh, what a great beginner!

The jackpot was 10 million dollars,

And my ticket was the only winner!

Soon after that I got a call,

From my grumpy Ex-boss.

He said that he was very sorry

About my total loss.

He also said that he was forgiving,

And he would like to rehire.

And I told him that I was very sorry,

And I think I’m going to retire.

Two hours later, I got another call

From the boys in blue.

They caught the robbers who stole my stuff,

And they had all of it too.

Two weeks later, another person called.

My ex called to apologize.

So I told her to meet me at a restaurant

For a burger and some fries.

We went to the same restaurant

With that snobby waitress.

She also was having a bad day,

and said sorry as she confessed.

And during all of these days

I constantly praised Christ.

I knew that God could do it

With all of His strength and might.

So if you think you’ve had a bad day,

Just read this once again.

You can’t alone overcome life’s obstacles,

But with God, you can.
