Hey shinny, sorry that you find my page to have too much words. =) You see, I've been to quite a few Speed pages that don't have much content. True, the pages may look all neat and snazzy with frames, Shockwave Flash, and all that fancy stuff, but my webpages (from my start with my obsession of J-pop and J-doramas) have always been subscribed to the theory that content is much more important than having a pretty looking page.

Also, I have remained true to my roots and all my work has been done in Windows Notepad and Paint Shop Pro...no other HTML editors and tools used!

Basically, if you find that I have too much words, just skip them and look at the pictures...if you don't find enough pictures, try the links page; there should be tons of Speed sites with a lot of pictures and perhaps snazzy Shockwave Flash modules and such...

SPEED DISBANDING!!!

I'm sure you've all heard by now, but for those of you who haven't, Speed held a press conference yesterday (or the day before) at 4pm. What they announced at the meeting is something no one could have been ready for. To the dismay of many fans out there, Speed announced that they are disbanding from March 31, 2000. This is not a break for vacation or to work more on their solo work, this is the real deal; the type of disbanding that seems to plague many groups nowadays.

The main reason given by Speed and their reps during the conference was so each member could do their own solo work; at this time, the only member of Speed that appears to have a future in J-pop is Hiro. I believe reports said that Taka would like to continue singing and Eri as well; Eri is thinking about working more in dramas. Hitoe is planning to go to New York to study English, illustrating (drawing), and rapping (?).

I know it's sad news and at first I didn't believe it when a person came to me with some reports about their disbanding from a BBS, but after checking my e-mail today, other folks of the Speed-chat ML have reported the same news; with links to the news reports and coverage.

I would just like to end this entry by saying that no matter what path in life they decide to pursue, we support each one of them 100%! Ganbatte Speed, it was a great 3 years with ya; well, closer to 4, but short by 5 months or so.

P.S. I am not going to quit supporting Speed and Speed Tengoku will change along with them as they move into the next millenium. Speed-chat ML will remain active as well.

Hey all, sorry for not having more updates, but I've been so busy with work and school... >_<

Anyhow, regarding the MIDI's that cut whenever you change a page, it's an easy problem to rectify... unfortunately, I have frames. =) I think there are still people who browse using text and browsers that don't support frames... 'sides, it's a pain in the butt since I do my HTML by hand...no programs here and it probably shows. =P

Well, I was planning on making frames...and no-frame versions of Speed Tengoku, but that's probably a long ways off from now...

^_^;;; Hazukashii na~~~. (How embarassing) Seems I've been slacking with the updates for all you Speed fans, but it's not really because I'm too lazy; that's just part of it. The main reason for my lack of updates is because my computer, the one I used to do all my updates and neat little Speed Tengoku logos on, crashed on me (it's running Win95...enough said, eh? ;) and since then (roughly April 28-May 2) I haven't bothered to install most of my software again (why bother? My darn computer is 5-6 years old and I'll just save up to make a better one! =D).

Anyway, in the meantime, if you folks want to get the latest news and information on Speed, join the Speed-chat ML! =D Zoe (one of our members) and others spend lots of time going to various websites (mainly Japanese ones) to find the latest news and info which is then posted to the list for everyone to enjoy. If you're worried about getting too much mail (Speed-chat is becoming infamous for the amount of mail that is generated daily), you could opt for the web option which allows you to view the messages on the web thus freeing your e-mail for other things. =D

Well, just thought I'd drop a little line to all of you who constantly (should be daily...^_^;;;) visit Speed Tengoku to drive up the hit count. Don't forget to do a search via Goto.com on the main page! v(^_^)v Heeheehee

Anyway, Nakata80, youre Speed Arena Net Fan Club ID is "nfc####" where the "####" is usually replaced by a number (e.g. "nfc0569" or "nfc3149"). Where do you get the number you ask? Well, when you subscribed to the nfc (i.e. when you clicked the submit button on the form), you were brought to a page that confirmed your password and told you, you were a member of the Speed Arena nfc (of course it was in Japanese so...) and along with a confirmation of your PW, it also gave you a number. That is the number you use with the "nfc####." Hope that answered your question. If not, e-mail me!

O.K. I hope you got a copy of SPEED SUMMER SPECIAL to spare because it reads like what a debut movie for a pop group should be. "Andromedia" reminded me of this old John Boorman directed art movie that served as the cinematic debut of the Dave Clark 5. In that movie also, the members of the band were used as just any other 5 actors might have been. In other words, there was no special reason for casting them aside from publicity and to exploit an established fan base. All the same, Da Pump 's car chas was a hoot and it's too bad the girls didn't have any scenes together (Hiroko on a monitor while the other 3 pretend to speak to her doesn't count!). Not that I don't cry whenever "ALIVE" gets to the final chorus.

Yes, it's been a while since I've updated Speed Tengoku. Gomen, I've been so busy!!!

Takako's First Solo-single

Well, if you haven't already heard the talk on the Speed-chat, Jpop, or Geinou MLs (that were posted by myself and others) regarding Takako's solo-single, it will come out on March 25th, 1999. It will be a maxi-single and contain 5 tracks. Here's a track listing from memory:

Also, it will contain a 16-page booklet and it is being produced by the lead vocalist of Luna Sea, Ryuichi Kawamura. He will not have his name on the single, only his initials R.K. will appear.

Speed's 9th single!!!

In case you haven't heard already, Speed's 9th single, Precious Time will be coming out this week! The title song, Precious Time, is the theme song for the newest Epson Calario CM. The c/w song is the theme song for the Doraemon movie that's coming out.

Speed Rumors

Well, there's only one really good rumor so I'll only mention it. There is a rumor that Eriko and Hitoe will star in an upcoming TBS drama called 'Live.' It will be about a brass band in high school and will center around the themes of love and friendship. It is supposed to start around April and will be on Fridays at 9pm.

As I have mentioned, this is a rumor as nothing official has been announced thus far, but I sure hope that it is true, as I assume every other Speed fans wishes. ^_^

Hello again everyone, just thought I'd write another little note for those that actually pay attention to this area. =P

Anyway, the Rise Tour video is coming out soon..just a little over a week away! I can't wait!

Also, I'm slowly getting to work on the translation for Andromedia. I'm not exactly an expert when it comes to Japanese (considering I'm still learning), but what better way to learn and practice than the translate something? Even easier for me to do si ce it pertains to Speed. ^_^; Hehehe

Brandon is still busy and hasn't started to translate so I'm the only one doing it at the moment. Hopefully, Brandon will be able to start soon.

I might release the translation as incomplete versions with updates coming when I get more done. I don't know. I think I'll wait until I get the entire thing completed before making it available.

BTW, anyone know when the Fansub is supposed to come out? I want to get the translation out (even if it's not 100% complete) before the fansub comes out so no one accuses me of copying the fansub script. ^_^; Anyone have the website? I thought I wrote it down, but I guess I didn't...just want to keep checking to see what the status of the fansub is for myself.
