The volumes can be roughly separated into three parts.

Introductory Part (Vol. 1-7)

This part introduces the major characters. The stories are general short and finishes in one chapter.

Life of a Wild Half (Vol. 8-12)

This part describes various ways a Wild Half fits in a human society and the problems it will face as a Wild Half.

Conclusion (Vol. 13-17)

This part covers many characters' solution to their problems and their futures.

The above categorisation may not be entirely accurate, as new characters are introduced all the way to the last volume. Throughout the manga, you can identify various problems that Salsa or Yoshiyasu have to face as a Wild Half.

Story style wise, it can also be categorised in five classes.

Wild Half the Detective

The chapters that fall under this class are concentrated in the first few volumes where Salsa works as a detective. They are generally, since Sushi cannot be absolute certain without the manga on hand, short stories that finish in one chapter.

Animals of Luna

After Maria appears and Luna Rental Petshop is established, there are all of a sudden a large number of animals that are not a Wild Half. The stories under this class are focussed on the feelings and reasons of action for these animals, who cannot speak for themselves. It occassionally includes animals from Karasuma's Clinic and Izumi's dogs. These stories also tend to finish in one chapter.

The Pasts of Wild Halves

Since the Wild Halves seem to have a much longer lifespan than human beings, they have more past than normal humans. Furthermore, because of their abilities, they do have a generally more tragic past than most humans. Their pasts are normally told via slightly longer stories, which tend to finish around three chapters.

School Life

This class covers events that occur at school or closely connected to school. Since Salsa and Mirei both join Taketo and Miya at school, more and more stories are happening at the school environment. These also tend to run for one chapter only.

Miscellaneous

This is the catch-all class, just in case Sushi has forgotten some stories.
