Fruits Basket
Fruits Basket is about a girl named Honda Tohru whose mom had a car accident and passed away. She lived with her grandfather until some complications occurred and she ended up living in a tent in the middle of a forest area. However, she meets up with Souma Yuki and the rest of the Souma family. Except for the fact that twelve of the people in the Souma clan turn into members of the Jyunishii (12 Chinese zodiacs consisting of: Cow, Dog, Mouse, Pig, Rabbit, Sheep, Monkey, Snake, Tiger, Dragon, Horse, and Chicken. There is a cat but the cat is not in the official 12 because of a certain disagreement between the mouse and the cat). Whenever a person of the opposite gender touches them (not including the Jyunishi themselves), they become one of thirteen animals. However, the conflict of the story is between Tohru-san and the Souma clan "curse". Not only is Tohru not supposed to know that the Souma clan are not fully human, she is also a central figure to the Jyunishi. They respect her (well, most of them) and they are extremely close with her.
