My name's Priya, I'm 18, and I'm a second-semester sophomore at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. ( This is explained by the fact that I skipped a bunch of grades because I was abducted by aliens when I was in first grade and given a special cranial implant. When I reach the age of 23, I will pupate, and emerge as the Queen of the Galaxy. But don't tell anyone.) I'm a Pisces (actually, both Kristi and I are Pisces...born a year and a day apart! Kristi: "And I'm the older one - if you couldn't tell!" Priya: I'm going to consume YOU first when I finish my larval stage for THAT one.) and that theoretically makes me shy and reserved. Ah. Yeah. Whatever. ;)
I'm a biology major, aiming for pre-med. Which explains why the peeji aren't very complicated HTML-wise. I try, but I'm not learning any more than I have to. ^_^ And you know what? I like quantum physics. A LOT. I don't know why. Maybe it's just because I got good grades in that. Or it's just that implant again. ^v^
What do I read? Well, a lot of sci fi, fantasy, that sort of stuff. But I usually read more serious stuff - too much fantasy today is completely derivative or cliched. Um...I've had four years of German, so I'm okay at that. I try to read some German novels once in a while to keep from forgetting. And if you're into that sort of thing, Duerrenmatt is really quite cool. Try his plays, or "Der Richter und sein Henker." Hell, I'll read anything as long as it doesn't involve heaving bosoms or bodice-ripping or stern, silent men hunting the heathens. ^_-
I buy manga even though I can't really read Japanese. But I've picked up just a little. Bishounen, bishounen...^_^
I write, and I draw reasonably well, but I don't show NO ONE anything I do. I'm kind of weird that way. ( Although this makes them seem like lemons of the worst kind. ;O_o They're not! I'm just really strange about any work I do! ^_^ )
Ergh.....well, I'm on IRC occasionally, on #fushigiyuugi, talking to Chi-chan or Thea-san. I suppose you can see me there. Although I can't promise to be very interesting. ^_^
What music do I listen to? Welll, let's see. My older sister fed me on a steady diet of glam rock, punk, and I suppose what would be called old-school goth ( as in, the stuff that was an outcropping of punk, not the " I am a vampire " stuff nowadays. ) So, I have a soft spot for David Bowie, Siouxsie and the Banshees, the Cure, the Clash, T. Rex, stuff like that. And then my father started me listening to the Beatles and the Rolling Stones. The modern stuff I listen to is electronic/techno/industrial/thrash-type stuff. I will admit a certain fondness for Nine Inch Nails and Marilyn Manson. *grin* ( Believe it or not, the Puupa has a signed MM CD booklet from 1994, back before MM went glam. ^^ ) I listen to music that has a strong beat, in other words. Sappy stuff makes me cringe >_<
