Apollonia is the result of a mating flight at Telgar Weyr, the first and quite possibly the only child of greenrider Jaleena and K'tan, rider of blue Sheldith. Since her dragonrider parents were far too busy to take care of her she spent her early turns in the weyr's nursery. Later she was sent to Plains Hold, the small hold on the Keroon plains where her father was born and raised. She quickly became very close to the holders' eldest daughter, Larina.

After spending several turns at Plains Hold, word came from Telgar that Luna's mother had died, and that her father wished for her to return. She did, though she was quite unhappy to leave her best friend behind. Only two turns later, Luna got a message from Larina's younger sister, Lisinda, that Larina had fallen ill and died.

Later, the Plains Hold harper, who had taught Apollonia how to play the harp, visited her, bringing news that Lisinda had recently become a healer, posted at the Harper Healer Hall. And so Luna has decided it's time for her to visit Lisinda, with her spirits high and her harp in hand.
