Shona arrives from the south.

Shona has arrived.

Shona walks in, peeling her gloves off of her hands. "Hello," she greets politely.

M'ko wanders in, trudging over to a seat in the corner. Shona just gets a slight nod in greeting. Woe is Moe.

P'len is over at the serving table picking out dinner. "Good evening! How's everything going?"

Shona watches M'ko curiously. "I'm fine. It looks like someone else isn't in that much of a good mood."

P'len wanders back to the tables. "Again? Geef. M'ko, what *is* the problem?"

M'ko just grumbles. "G'way." People. Ick.

Shona takes a detour away from the food tables to move closer to M'ko. "Dragon snoring?"

"No." Moe is more pouty than usual today. "I'm perfectly fine." He's sincere, too. That bluerider, he just gets a glare.

P'len nibbles on a meatroll. "Look. This is the living cavern. I just sat down to dinner and I'm not going away." Apparently Moe's rubbed him the wrong way.

Shona plunks down in a seat next to P'len, "And I can sit wherever I want. Live with it. Are you going to tell us what's wrong?"

M'ko grumbles more. Grumble. "What's /wrong/?" He nods toward P'len. That's what's wrong. Yup.

P'len, mostly oblivious (or doing a very good imitation), just keeps eating dinner. If anyone's looking closely, he might be smiling.

Shona glances at P'len. "He's only eating. It looks disqusting to me, too, but I don't see any real problem in it.."

M'ko stops grumbling and sighs, rolling his olive-green eyes. "No, he..." Sigh. "Oh, nevermind." He heaving another sigh, running a hand through that fiery red hair. "Oh, nevermind. It's my fault, anyway. I should've known better than to believe that /anyone/ could feel that way about me..." Sigh again. Aww. Poor brownrider.

P'len polishes off a meatroll. "Oh! M'ko. That reminds me." He gets up and walks over, not the least bit concerned. "I think this is yours." The bluerider takes a wooden mark out of his pocket and puts it down on the table with an audible -snap-. "I certainly don't need it." The message delivered, he saunters back to his place.

Shona watches the exchange, standing and walking over to the food tables as if she's minding her own business on this one. She does cast glances over her shoulder, however, as she fixes herself something to eat.

M'ko just looks at that mark and scowls, brushing it off the table and onto the floor irritably. He glances up, scowling at P'len, and then Shona... Just 'cause.

Shona takes her plate and a glass full of water and makes her way over next to M'ko. "Lemme sit here?"

M'ko shrugs. "I don't care." Green eyes flicker Shona-wards as he adds, "I can't tell you what to do."

Shona puts the plate down on the table with a cheery plunk, and then sits right next to M'ko. She starts on her food before saying blandly, "It's not the end of the world."

M'ko just blinks at Shona, quirking an eyebrow. "What?"

Shona gestures with a fork full of greens toward P'len. "Whatever he did. It's not the end of the world."

P'len smiles. "Thanks. I think."

M'ko has decided to ignore P'len, now. But that's better than throwing one of Moe's patented temper tantrums. "How would you know, anyway?" He grumbles at Shona, turning away in a huff. Hmph.

Shona puts the fork into her mouth, eating the greens before speaking again, "You're alive."

M'ko blinks at that, turning back to peer at Shona. "So? Maybe it would be better if I weren't." Hmph again.

Shona shakes her head, "No. I'm saying that you need to stop being childish. You're too old for pouting."

M'ko grumbles more. "Oh...Shut up." Really proving his maturity, isn't he? He frowns at the greenrider, wondering aloud, "What do you care, anyway?"

Shona shrugs, after eating more of her dinner. "You're a friend. Friends don't let friends act like two-turn-olds. Not when they're not proddy."

M'ko shakes his head. "I don't have any friends. And I'm not acting like I'm two turns old. I'm acting like my twenty-three turns, thank you very much." -- A pouty, whiney, childish twenty-three-turn-old. And of /course/ the offending greenrider isn't his friend. He's only known her... What, five turns? Something like that.

Shona rolls her eyes, "Oh, please. Do I have to take you up to my weyr and explain it to you by pushing you off of the ledge?"

M'ko blinks in genuine surprise at Shona. "What would that accomplish?"

Shona shrugs, "It'd make you stop acting like a child."

"How so?" Moe's interested, now.

Shona says one word. "Splat."

M'ko blinks some more. "Well at least you're /honest/. At least you admit that you don't like me." Whine pout woe.

Shona shakes her head. "I didn't say I didn't like YOU. I don't like the whining."

"Well, if you want to push someone off a ledge, that's a pretty good hint that you don't like them..." Or maybe Moe isn't quite as perceptive as he thinks he is? "...And I'm not whining." He's grumbling. There's a difference. Really.

P'len takes the opportunity to return his dishes and leave before the throwing starts.
P'len heads south.
P'len has left.

Shona mms. "Sure it does." She pushes her plate away. "And yes, you are. Whoever she is, she isn't worth a splat. Is she?"

M'ko blinks again, muttering, "What makes you think I'm mad about a /girl/?"

Shona smiles thinly, "P'len can be a jerk, but he's not enough to make anyone that mad."

M'ko mutters irritably under his breath, then sighs. "..She's worth a splat.." Whatever that is. "To me, anyway... I mean, she was the only girl -- the only /person/ who ever bothered to give me another look..." He shrugs then, looking into his klah mug. "She says she..loves me..But him, too." Wow, he actually said the l-word. He looks at Shona then, frowning slightly. "That's no possible though, is it?"

Shona shakes her head. "Nobody's worth a splat." She amends that, "Except maybe Ilsyth, but then it'd have to be a darned good reason. It is possible to love two people at once. I love my brother. I loved my mom. That's two people. Maybe she means that she loves you both in different ways?"

M'ko shakes his head, too. "No, I mean... /Romantic/ love. And she said she loved us the same." Does he wince whenever he says that word, or is it a trick of the glows?

Shona taps her fingers on the table thoughtfully. "Sounds to me like she has a decision to make."

M'ko shakes his head again. "No...She won't." He sighs then, resting his chin on his fist. "She can't, she says... Maybe she's not worth a splat, after all..." The brownrider heaves another heavy sigh, staring into the hearth.

Shona waves her hand dismissively, "Then she's not worth your trouble. There's lots of other girls who like you."

M'ko makes a face. "What, silly drudges who are ten turns younger than me?" Snort.

Shona looks toward the kitchens, "Them, too?"

M'ko just blinks. "What?"

Shona shakes her head, "Nothing. I didn't say anything."

M'ko blinkblinks. "What in Faranth's name are you talking about?" He asks, brows furrowing in a dark frown.

Shona widens her eyes innocently. "I'm not. Are you still on about this?"

"About /what/?" Poor Moe is so confused, and this greenrider certainly isn't helping any... Sniff.

Shona shakes her head, "LEt's go for a walk."

M'ko blinks. "A walk...Why?"

Shona shrugs, "IT seems like a good idea."

Blinkblink. "Okay...." Moe is finally being agreeable, it seems...

Shona stands, "Good."

M'ko follows, heading toward the cave entrance, muttering inaudibly under his breath.

Shona saunters on out, perhaps a little smug.

Shona heads south.
Shona has left.

Smug? Moe might have actually noticed that... But, "Why are we going for a walk, again?"

Shona glances behind herself as she passes by her dragon. "Because. You need fresh air. Come on."

M'ko sighs softly as he follows. "What I /need/ is for everyone to just leave me alone." Yeah, people. Ick... He still follows Shona out, though...

Shona stops in her tracks, waiting for the brownrider to catch up. "Too bad."

M'ko just grumbles more as he catches up, then stops, too. "Where exactly are we walking to?"

Shona looks around. "The water," she decides. "Is that okay with you?"

M'ko shrugs...Then nods. "Yeah, sure.." He thinks a minute, adding, "Why there?" He certainly is full of questions tonight.

Shona grabs her companion's hand and moves on. "Because I said so."

Shona arrives from the north.

Well, that seems logical enough. Moe follows, heading toward the beach.

Forest Glade
Preternatural silence reigns here, the stillness hanging in the air. There is not an absence of sound, but rather a muffling; the normal sounds of the forest somehow not as pronounced. The fragrent scent of fresh pine fills the area, and a soft blanket of fallen pine needles on the ground absorb echoes as would a carpet. The trees crowd closely together and only filtered sunbeams or moonlight break through the canopy, creating odd patterns on the ground. Every once in a while a chirp from a plumed avian or a chitter from a firelizard can be heard off in the distance, but the sound only seems to fade in for a few seconds -- most of the time there's just the enveloping quiet.
To the north is the forest entrance and a path leading to beaches and hold.

Shona walks along. "Okay," she breaks the silence. "So it's not water."

M'ko has just been following.. Yup. "Yeah, but it's nice here..." He mutters, glancing around at the scenery. "I don't remember /this/ part of the forest..."

Shona nods, "I found it while walking one day. Ilsyth was napping."

M'ko nods, too, then flomps down on the ground. "We're done walking now, right?"

Shona nods, making herself comfortable on the ground. "Quite."

M'ko raises his eyebrows at that, then leans back on the ground, staring up at the sky and remaining silent.

Shona hmms. "So you really let yourself get this upset over a girl?"

M'ko blinks, turning to peer at Shona curiously. "What?" He gets defensive, then, grumbling, "...Why do you care, anyway?"

Shona laughs a little bit. "I guess I'm jealous. Nobody ever gets this upset over me." Or so she thinks.

"Jealous?" Moe is genuinely surprised with that one. "Well... No one gets upset over me, either. Obviously." He snorts, turning away.

"I'm guessing that she's really the only one who's ever been this way towards you," says the greenrider quietly. "BEcause I can see how people could get upset over you. Losing someone who's so kind and compassionate?"

M'ko sighs, nodding slowly... He gets defensive about that last comment, though. "Are you making fun of me or something?"

Shona shakes her head. "Not at all." She's definitely being honest. "Why do you even ask?"

M'ko grumbles, noting, "Nobody's ever thought /I/ was kind or compassionate before."

Shona snorts at that. "Your dragon obviously does."

"Well... Eshoth's different than people." Moe argues.

Shona shakes her head, "They're not, really. They're not stupid animals, after all. All that's really different is that he can fly and you have to be on him to fly."

M'ko shakes his head. "That's not what I meant. He's better than people.. And people think differently and...." He trails off, ending his sentance with a shrug.

Shona ohs. "Well, maybe people are afraid of you because you're so .. big."

M'ko shrugs again. "People are afraid of me... But... I didn't ask to be like this." Grumble.

Shona nods. "And I didn't ask to be like this. Your point?"

M'ko peers at Shona, frowning. "What do you mean? Like what? ...There's nothing wrong with /you/.."

Shona laughs. "Yeah, right."

M'ko blinks, raising an eyebrow. "What's that supposed to mean?"

Shona settles her self on the pine needles, laying on her stomach. "It doesn't mean anything. Why does everything I say have to have some secret meaning?"

"Well," Moe grumbles, crossing his arms over his chest, "Don't say things you don't mean, then. I'm sick of people doing that."

Shona snickers. "Just because I didn't mean anything doesn't mean I said something that .." She pauses. "Are you getting confused, too?"

M'ko frowns darkly. "Yes. I'm easily confused." He's just a big dumb brownrider. Woe.

Shona rolls her eyes as she plays with the carpeting on the ground. "I didn't say /that/. Must everything I say be negative? Why can't you just take things at face value?"

M'ko snorts. "Because people usually don't mean what they say." He repeats. Grumble.

"Or so you think," replies the greenrider. "Do you trust ANYONE?"

M'ko shakes his head as he leans back against a rock. "No. Safer that way."

Shona hehs. "Boring that way. Sort of sad, too."

M'ko scowls. "If I'm so sad, why would you wanna drag me out for a walk?" Moody brownriders. Ugh.

Shona shrugs noncomitally. "You're cute."

M'ko blinks in surprise at that, sitting up. He scowls, muttering. "Am not. You're just saying that. Trying to cheer me up or something." And anyone who tries to cheer him up must be evil, yeah...

Shona shakes her head. "No. You're cute. Got a problem with me saying that?"

M'ko sniffs, shaking his head. "No... Unless you don't mean it." But they've already cleared that up, right?

Shona smacks her forehead. She can only take so much. "I mean it, okay? But can you PLEASE stop feeling sorry for yourself? I really like you, and you've been a friend of mine for turns, but this is just sad, M'ko. You're bigger than this."

M'ko sighs, settling back on the pine needle-covered ground. "Fine. I'll do that. I'll forget that I was dumb enough to let some girl get close enough to crush my heart into tiny little pieces." He gestures appropriately.

Shona makes a frustrated sound, "I can't believe this! Get over her! She's not worth your time or your trouble! You're so busy feeling sorry for yourself that you won't even tell when someone else likes you!"

M'ko scowls, absently flicking a pebble away. "Shut up.. You don't know her..." Sniffle. "And I couldn't tell, anyway. I'm just a big dumb brownrider, remember?"

Shona mmhmms, "Whatever." She rolls over, gazing at the sky. AT least to her, the conversation is over.

M'ko grumbles. "Well, what do /you/ know about love and weyrmating and all that stuff, anyway?" He asks, more than a little bit defensive. Grumble.

Shona ignores the grumbling and the words. She's completely ignoring the big brownrider.

"Hey." Moe sits up, peering at the greenrider. "Hey, are you even listening to me?" Grumpy, grumpy...

Shona still doesn't reply.

M'ko pokes her roughly in the shoulder. "Hey." He repeats, scowling. "What, did I make you mad or something. Well, I warned you." So there.

Shona grabs at the finger that pokes her. She'll twist that wrist. Hard. Nobody touches her. "You are acting like a child. I'm not going to listen to it."

M'ko winces, snatching his hand away. He glares at her, snorting. "Fine then." He's more grumpy now, but at least he hasn't thought of that /other/ greenrider for.. at /least/ five minutes.

Shona makes herself all comfortable on the ground. "And if you touch me again, it'll hurt worse."

"Fine." Moe grumbles, red brows furrowing as his scowl darkens. "Not like I'd wanna touch you, anyway." So there.

Shona shrugs a bit. "That's your loss, now isn't it?"

M'ko snorts, rolling his eyes. "Sure, whatever you say."

Shona watches the sky for a long time, then shrugs and starts to get up. "Do you really want to see what you're missing?"

M'ko blinks, frowning in confusiong. "What?"

Shona pulls herself over and firmly attatches herself to the brownrider. /Smoooch/.

M'ko blinks, then those dark green eyes widen as he pulls away, staring at Shona in surprise.

Shona shrugs. No big deal to her. "Problem?"

M'ko is just surprised, that's all... "Err... well..." Moe's just flustered, now.. Not to mention confused.

Shona smiles, lips pulling away from shiny white teeth. "WE can go somewhere else."

M'ko blinks. Is this a subject change or something? Poor confused brownrider.. "Err... Whatever you want."

Shona shrugs again and reglomps. She seems to have her own ideas.

M'ko doesn't pull away, this time... Maybe he's too frightened to? "So.. Where should we walk to? The bowl? Back to the caverns, maybe?"

Shona smiles again. It's actually a rather frightening smile. Almost predatory. "What about my place?" She's drunk. Definitely.

M'ko sighs hevily, noting, "Ooookay.. You're right.. I'd better get you back up to your weyr.." He has noticed the fact that she probably had /just/ a bit too many glasses of wine with dinner..

Shona frowns, "I don't like that tone of voice."

M'ko blinks. "What?" He grabs hold of her hand, pulling her along gently. "Come on.. Let's go."

Shona sighs, standing up. "I can go home by myself."

M'ko shakes his head slowly. "No.. You're... not acting like yourself.." To put it nicely.

Shona snorts, "And this means that I won't be able to find it to my own weyr? Whose weyr do you think I'll go to?" She stalks off, mumbling about idiots.
Shona has left.
