Two videogames of Marmalade Boy exist, one for the GameBoy and one for the Super Nintendo. The base idea are similar: the player personify Miki and have to win one boy's love, between Yuu, Ginta and Kei. While the GameBoy version is very similar to the manga, the Super Nintendo version differs from both the manga and from the anime (!). I.e.: in an occasion Kei phones Miki saying "I love you. Why don't we go out together?". Miki replies to him "Whaaat???" and she is amazed but Kei immediatly adds "Ah! I have mistaken the telephone number!". ^_______^;;;;;;;;;;
Talking about the Super Nintendo
version, the game is really amusing: it starts with Miki who dreams about
a "triple love declaration" of Yuu, Ginta and Kei. Obviously Miki is in panic!
^_^ So the real game starts, with the diary on the December 20th page. In
fact the game is based on the flow of the days, with Miki who gets up, goes
to school, eventually she goes out in the afternoon, and then she goes to
sleep. The interaction is quite limited because the player can only select
between two (or three) sentences already prepared and use a menu with simple
actions like "leave home", "read the diary", ecc. Nevertheless of these limits,
the game is funny because the videogame generates a new story respect of
the anime, based on player's choiches but also on a bit of casuality: so
it could happen that while Ginta tries to kiss Miki, arrives Namura who sees
them (and stops them), or else during a mountain trip suddently Yuu kisses
Miki, and so on. Unfailing the jealousy scenes. The game ends on February
14th (Valentine), date until which Miki has to win the love of (at least
^_^ ) one boy: the more she was near to him, better will be the ending (that
shows an hypothetical "what happens one month after").
