Alaska Wu-Tan has invited Grandmaster Su Yu Chang to host several seminars in Anchorage, Alaska. The seminars will be from August 1, 2001 - August 7, 2001. Master Su is scheduled to teach the following:
Ba Gwun - Preying Mantis Double Stick Form
Qi Xing Lan Jie - Seven Star Chopping and Blocking Form (Must have some experience in the Preying Mantis System
18 Lohan Qi Gong
Grandmaster Su Yu Chang is a first generation disciple of the late Grandmaster Liu Yun Qiao and is also Sifu Kurt Wong's primary teacher. The members of Alaska Wu-Tan are all honored that GM Su will be coming to Alaska to share his knowledge with us. We will update this site for any new information on Master Su's Seminars. Sifu Kurt Wong is now teaching an Aerobic Taiji class at the Alaska Club North location. This class is geared for beginners and all are welcome to attend. The class meets Friday 6:00pm - 7:00pm. Courses are free to members of Alaska Club. For more information, please email Sifu Wong at kurtwong@alaska.net.
Kevin Walle, one of Sifu Wong's disciples, will be presenting two intensive seminars starting the first week of June and will last up to the end of August.
Taijiquan Tuei Shou (Pushing Hands)
Classes will be held Thursday evenings from 7:30 - 8:30 PM
Introduction to basic Tai Chi energies (1 and 2 person practise),
instruction in basic pushing hands routines (static as well as moving)
and in core concepts - including rooting, listening, and sticking,
possibly some application and open pushing hands.
Class cost is $40/mo. or $90 for all three months.
Class size limited.
Paolo Castaneda, a disciple of Sifu Wong, is currently teaching a Beginner's Kung Fu class. The class focus is on proper execution of techniques, fundamental basics, and basic understanding of kung fu usage. He is currently teaching the Tan Tui sets from Jiao Men Changquan. Classes are on Sunday from 1:00pm to 2:30pm and on Tuesday from 6:00pm to 7:30pm. All are welcome to enroll.
