1:when did pantalones start?

This was long time past because I played fast music in years ago. So the real start was long time past. But if you say just Pantalones, this is 1996. The first recording was 1997 in summer.

2:what does pantalones abajo marinero mean en ingles?

I am not knowing...I ask people to explain these English words and they say what I do not understand. So maybe to ask Hagamoto of Pacino will you know what this means. All I can know is some man called Tom of Finland.

3:why not call your selves "mi pantalones es un fuego!"?

This I can say; this is “my pants is a fire” but this doesn’t mean sense actually. What you say is “Mis pantalones estan ardiendo.” I am not calling this sentence my band because it is long.

4:what happened to your old bass player and guitarist?

Well, it is funny with Juan, my friend and old bassist, because he was playing in the first tape to make heavy slow song but his fast playing was shit! So I said to Juan “you cannot play with Pantalones fast grindcore band.” Of course he is mad but that is how it is to play in fast band like Pantalones. But what is after this is I said I wanted him on a song because he is my friend so I made a riff very easy for him and he played very good. Then he did voices with me on the song and the song is very brutal. So I am saying now that he is sometimes in Pantalones now. Probably he is going to be in other next recordings. The old guitarist there was only me. I am the just guitarist. If you mean Julio the low voices man, he was just to do low voices on the tape. I do bad low voices. I didn ’t see him after the tape, so we didn’t make songs after. But I see him now so maybe next Pantalones songs will have low voice.

5:is pantalones sXe grindcore?

Yes, as you know, the bands on my friend Hagamoto's record label, Discos Al Pacino, are most “straight edge”. It is for me to say “Ser libre de drogas es para mi.” I see no point in the drugs, smoking, or alcohol. All people I see doing this things I do not like as people. So I think that this things are for stupid people. I would like to have a clean head and body. It is better for making brutal grindcore, and better for living good life!

6:how is spain?

I think that Spain is good because the Spanish people are nice to everyone. I do not know one mean Spanish person. This is a very magic country. Everyone here is cool. I do not want to live in another place than this.

7:what do you think of hardcore music?

I have hard time knowing what is this “hardcore” because the people were thinking Napalm Death is “hardcore” before, but it is grind! And the other bands like on big American labels Slap a Ham and like this are sounding like death metal. But they say to be “hardcore” so I do not know what this is. I think this is a group that does not know what they are too. But if they want to say to be hardcore I do not care. I know I am grindcore and that is the best kind to be.

8:do you like cartoons? if so which ones?

I like this cartoon of a skinhead and a “punk” that was from 8 years I saw i t but I do not remember the name. It was from here in Spain and it was funny. I had a book of it but I lost.

9:what do you write your songs about?

This is not an important thing for me. I will write whatever in my head when I need words. Sometimes it is serious like things that make me angry but other times it is just silly to say “¡Pantalones es lo mejor!” I can do all words because it is voice sound that is what needs to be good.

10:can you freestyle?

Freestyle! I know this! My friend Jorge was a “breakdancer”. He has the “Beat Street” and a poster of freestyle! I am not doing this, but I know it is.

11:does pantalones have a political agenda or is it all about ass kicking?

Ass kicking.

12:how did you hook up with hagamoto and discos al pacino?

Hagamoto stayed with me as exchange student in Fernancaballero where I live. It was many years past. I said to Exhumed to do a record and I had no money so I wrote to Hagamoto and he knows that I am doing the grindcore so I said to him about the record and he said he would pay the money to make it. Now I do much of the working with him and his label.

13:what records do you have comming out?

Wow, there are a lot! In this year on Discos Al Pacino is split 7”s with id. and with Wadge who are both fast grind and death metal. Also is a split CD with two bands that are from where Pacino is, Minneapolis; this is Repugnant Corpse Odor and Vorpal Bunny. Both of this bands are much of death metal more than Pantalones, but are good too so we do a split with them. Pantalones is going to be on compilations like “Roots 2” on Root-O-Evil Records and also on a Happy Hamster Records CD with techno versions of Pantalones songs! Also there will be a split 7” on Sacapuntas records of Pantalones with Groinchurn. Next year Hagamoto will do on Pacino a split CD of Pantalones and tardcore band Especially Likely Sloth who are fucking awesome. Maybe too there will be a compilation on Satan’s Pimp with Pantalones but I do not know really of that.

14:any plans to tour?

No, I do not think so because the people in the band are having to work jobs so it is hard to go traveling. Also I do not like to play in front of people because it is not easy to stand and yell and play and listen for drum beats and watch the people...this is not for me. We wanted to do a show with Brujeria because we read they were coming here for tour. In fact that is why there is Pantalones. We just wanted to open playing for Juan Brujo. But that is the only show I think we will do. Unless for old Carcass and Napalm reunion tour with only old songs. Then Pantalones will do songs of Napalm and Carcass worship for one show!

15:would you say that you are a religious man?

No.

16:do you think that we're going to go into world war 3 soon and if so that the world is gonna end and nostradamus was right and we should all be pissing our pants right now?

I do not think this is happening. This is weird question.

17:if so who would you want to have your back during the jihad?

Have my back? This is something I do not know. I do not want “jihad”. Religion is stupid.

18:what would you do with your last days on earth?

I don’t think much thoughts about things in eschatology...um, I think if I knew about my last days I would get confused and sit down or go to sleep. What would I do? I can not think of a good thing!

19:does the forest whisper your name?

I do not like outdoors. I do not like many bugs and itchy grass, no showers, tents. It is so dirty and I think I want to stay in my house and just play my records. I can not bring my record player in the tent without the big battery power. Forests are nice to have for helping people to breathe but they have bugs in the trees so I will stay out of them.
