Here’s another show in which, yeah, the romance is kinda there but all these people are so messed up that it really shouldn’t be happening at this moment. Or, to put it more simply, it doesn’t need romance. Friendship first, romance later. Seriously, they all need to repair their friendships.
The pairings I like should be fairly obvious. I’m going canon. So, it’s Myung/Guld and Myung/Isamu. I would almost want to put her with Guld because he’s not so callous. But, he is borderline overbearing. One can handle so much protection. However, he does care. He really does. He’s a good guy. It’s just the temper. He’s scary. And he knows it.
The ending leaves the opening for Myung/Isamu and I can totally see that. By now, he’s matured. He’s not so driven to simply have fun. He’s more grounded. He can now offer stability that he never could, previously. So, I can totally see this working in the future. But, immediately after the series? Hell, no. Again, these people have Issues to work out before they get that far. But Myung and Isamu sure made some wonderful steps to repair everything during the final battles. So, I can get behind this pairing.
I think I’d put this above Bebop with regards to the ‘kinda sorta’ because a Myung/Isamu relationship that is completely healthy and no longer with Issues appeals to me. So, while it also seems generous to place it in this section (along with Bebop), I wouldn’t be adverse to a happy ending. Of course, that has to come at the hands of fanfic authors.
