Ballad of the Red-Jeweled Dragon
by CKC
There once was a red-jeweled dragon
flying so high in the sky.
He looked down, saw a blue-jeweled dragon
drifting along with the sea.
Swooping down, the red-jeweled dragon
danced just above the other.
She glanced up and the blue-jeweled dragon
laughed at the movements he made.
For the rest of the day,
these two danced and they played,
unaware of the sun.
As night fell down, a storm came.
The waves towered up to the sky.
He lost sight of the blue-jeweled dragon
as a wave crashed above her.
Rising up, the red-jeweled dragon
let out an anguished cry.
And he searched,
whirling eround in the sky.
And he searched,
diving down in the sea,
to the depths of the sea,
and he found nowhere
a trace.
And he searched through the night.
And he flew everywhere,
until he came to
a new place.
There was land.
On the shore was the blue-jeweled dragon,
locked tightly in a gold cage.
Even now therefs a red-jeweled dragon
circling above in the sky.
