Shinji Ikari - 3rd Child. Age : 14 Birthday : June 6th Blood Type : A Pilot of EVA-01

Shinji, sometimes referred to as the "Third Child", is the main character of the series, and is the only one that's really capable of controling the humanoid weapon EVA-01. His father, Ikari Gendou is the supreme commander of Nerv, but they don't seems to get along very well, because he left Shinji when he was very young, and they have not seen each other for over ten years He is a bit clumsy on socializing with other people and lacks self-confidence, but he is gradually getting better thanks to his guardian Katsuragi Misato, who treats him like an younger brother, and friends he made ever since he moved into the 3rd Shin-Tokyo.

Rei Ayanami - 1st Child. Age : 14 Birthday : Unknown Pilot of EVA-00 Prototype

Rei is the test pilot of the EVA-00 Protype, and sometimes referred to as the "First Child". She was trained for piloting since the early stage of EVA development. Unlike most girls her age, she is very quiet. She rarely speaks and almost never shows her true feelings to anyone other than Gendou. GEndou and Rei seems to have a Father-daughter relationship, and as such, when she is with him, she sometimes act like a normal girl. She would pretty much obey any command given to her, but avoids contact with others, and because of this, she is not very good at having relationship with others, or as Ritsuko said, "she is not very good at living". However, she seems to have deep feelings for Shinji, as she saves him in more than one occasion, and acts more naturally when she is with him..

Asuka Souryu Langley - 2nd Child. Age : 14 Birthday : December 4th Blood Type : A Pilot of EVA-02

Asuka is the pilot of EVA-02, and is referred to as the "second child". Her nationality is American, but she is actually 1/4 Japanese and 3/4 German. Her personality shows sharp contrast with that of Shinji and Rei. She is active, self-motivated and have a bright personality. Although she is only 14, she already graduated college (And here _I_ am... still in High school *sigh*). Because of this, she really hates losing to anyone at anything. She feels very confident, both in her ability as a pilot as well as EVA-02's abilities. Although Asuka and Shinji doesn't get along well when they first met, she grows to like him as the time passes, and is around him almost wherever he goes (Shinji seems to like her as well). Because of this, they are "officially" classified as a "couple" by their classmates.

Misato Katsuragi Age : 29 Birthday : December 8th Blood Type : A Head Commander in Operations

Misato belongs in First Division of Operation Section in Department of Tactics and Operation of Nerv Headquarters. She is also a direct supervisor of Shinji, Rei and Asuka. She volenteered to be Shinji's guardian when he first came to the 3rd shin-Tokyo, and later, she also takes care of Asuka as well. Aside from these two, she also lives with her pet penguin called "Penpen" (Pen^2). She is very cheerful and optimistic, but can be very punctial and serious when she needs to be. She helps Shinji gain self-confidence by encouraging him, and Shinji respects her a great deal. She was also friends with Akagi Ritsuko and Kaji Ryouji when they were in college, and her and Ryouji used to be lovers eight years ago.

Ritsuko Ikagi Age : 30 Birthday : November 21st Blood Type : B Evanglion Development Manager.

Ritsko belongs to First Techology Division in Department of Technology and Development of Nerv Headquarters, and manages the development of Eva Units, and as such, she is most knowledgable of Evangelion Units than most of the others. She is very determined, and handles things a little more cautiously and seriously than Misato does. However, this is not to say that she is a typical stone-cold scientist. She also has a very warm personality. She was also friends with Katsuragi Misato and Kaji Ryouji since her college years, and like Misato, she also falls in love with Ryouji. He uses this as an opertunity to get information about Nerv.

Gendou Ikari Age : 48 years Old Birthday : April 29th Blood Type : A Chief Commander of Nerv

Gendou is the Chief commander of the Nerv. He is also Shinji's father, but he treats his son as being no more than a reserved pilot. However, he is very kind to Ayanami Rei, and treats her like he was her father. All this makes Shinji feel alienated around his father. He doesn't express his emotions, and is almost always cold and serious.

Ryouji Kaji Age : 31 Birthday : June 17th Blood Type : A

Ryouji belongs to Department of Special Inspection in Nerv, the Department of the Interior of Japan, and the Department of Inquiry. He made his first appearance with Asuka and "Adam". He came to Nerv as a spy sent from the Japanese government to investigate Nerv. Misato, Ritusko and Ryouji used to be friends when they were in college, but this time, Misato and Ritsuko falls in love with him. This causes some jelousy storm between the two. He takes advantage of this situation to gain infomation about Nerv, as neither Misato nor Ristuko suspects that he is a spy.

Maya Ibuki Age : 24 Birthday : July 11th Blood Type : A Operator

Maya is one of the operators in the tatics department. She is an assistant of Akagi Ritsuko, and helps her out in delopment of Evangelion units. Maya respects her very much. She is very sincere slightly overpolite. Also very kind-hearted, she doesn't approve of inhuman tactics such as the Dummy Plug System.

Touji Suzuhara - Fourth Child. Age : 14 Birthday : ?? Blood Type : ? Pilot of EVA-03

Touji is the Fourth Child and is also a friend of Shinji. He attends the 3rd Shin Tokyo No.1 Junior High, and uses Oosaka dilect, and is kind of typical football captain-ish kid. He is also a friend of Kensuke and when all three of them are together, the peers call them the "Idoit Trio". He becomes the pilot of EVA-03 in episode 18.

Kensuke Aida Age : 14 Birthday : September 12th Blood Type : A

Kensuke is a close friend of Shinji and Touji. He also lives in the Third Shin Tokyo. He is a Video and Military mania, and is always around Touji. A member of the "Idoit Trio" ^_^ He wants to be pilot of Evangelion unit.

Hikari Horaki Age : 14 Birthday : Febuary 18th Blood Type : ? Class President of class 2-A

Hikari is the class president of the class 2-A, and is also the The supervisor (?) of the "Idot Trio". ^_^. As such, she is a little serous for her age, but that change a bit when she becomes friends with Asuka. She also has a place in her heart for Touji.

Penpen Age : ? Birthday : ? Blood Type : ? Misato's lovely roommate.

Pen Pen is a Onsen penguin that lives in Misato's refrigerator, with a tv, a couch, and BEER! Aside from providing some comic element to the series, he is not really significant to the plot, and makes only few short appearances. But he's still cool. ^_^
