Vegita....personally one of my favorite characters. I think he is the coolest (not to mention fine :) and also the second strongest ( I think he could beat Kakarotto if he trained really hard) I also think he is the most complex character (him and Piccolo) but a little more than Piccolo since it took a longer time for him to blend in with the other Z warriors up to the extent where he has to save thier asses. He is a Saiya-jin with an attitude and you better watch out when he gives you that "look" ^_^
Background info
Vegita was born on the planet that bears his name and is a Saiya-jin Elite (A litle higher than a first class Saiya-jin) He is the second strongest warrior over-all (well in my opinion) he is the second to reach Super Saiya-jin level 1,3, and 4 and is the Prince of the Saiya-jin. He is a tad weaker than Kakarotto/Goku but he makes up for it big time with brains. Unlike Goku he actually uses his head in a fight which helps him out of hard situations a lot but is very cocky and has a lot of pride which can sometimes be his downfall. After the fight with Freezer he stays with Bulma and yamcha at the capsule Corp. and after Bulma breaks up with Yamcha for about the 20th time which is also the last, she sees Vegita.....and I guess she finally realizes how cute he is or something cause then 1 year later...Trunks is born!! Yay! They aren't married yet and Vegita doesn't even attempt really to see his son being born because of the Androids. (although I do have a comic of it happening >translated in English< this is not by a fan! It is an actual comic!) After he sacrifices himself in order to save the people he loves most, he is wished back (yay!!) and when the fight with all of those Buus' is over (finally) we see..10 years later...and Bura is introduced! She is so incredibly CUTE! Durring those 10 years I think Bulma and Vegita grow closer....they FINALLY get married and about 2 years later Bura is born. In GT, Bura becomes "daddy's lil girl" and vegita always gives in to her tears. (Ain't he a softy :) He grows a mustache and then Bura insists he looks bad and he removes it. (He did look bad for once in his life)
Name Spellings
Like many of the ways to spell Vegita (The way I prefer) it is actually PRONOUNCED ==Begito== but here is the way FUNimation spells it on their Episode titles ::Vegeta:: more close to the word Vegetable I guess. Here are the other ways to spell his name. The ones with * next to them are the more commomn ones.. uncommon if there is a sign and semi with the ~ sign.

Name Pun
Quite obvious..it is derived from the word Vegetable. Which is suitable since "Saiya" means "Vegetable" and "jin" meaning "person" so in short Saiya-jin means "vegetable person" which makes sense since King Vegita and Prince Vegita are rulers of the Saiya-jin.
