It's the final countdown ... my last breakfast at the Generator (yes, I hate that crap). I took all my stuff to the luggage room, collected the deposit for my lock and took my bag with the laptop with me. I walked towards Embankment station where there is Cleopatra's Needle and also a bus stop for the airbus to Stansted. I just wanted to check if the airbus is really coming that way ... but it didn't arrive ! So my plan to go there instead of Victoria Coach Station was not that good and I decided to take the tube to Victoria later on. On my way to Embankment I went by Trafalgar Square where there's been millions of doves apparently ! There was this old guy with his family and, as I guess, his son trying to make a picture of him in between those doves. Big mistake, ha ha. The doves sat down on that old guy and he had a hard time getting the doves off again ... :o) ... I then walked by Play 2 Win at Oxford Street again of course ... the new machine ! Won 2-pound-coins again, another chain, but still lost some more pounds - anyway ! I then went to Regent Campus to say good bye to the football team, but actually no one showed up and it was cancelled again. Hugh said "Okay, don't mention Wednesday" when I arrived. "Wednesday ? What was on Wednesday ?", I asked. Hugh of course meant Tuesday, the day of the big match. He still seemed to be shocked that Arsenal "only" played tied. The Londoners really took this as a defeat ! Crazy ... I expected Munich to win of course ... :o) ... anyway. When I headed back towards the hostel to get my stuff, I went by Forbidden Planet again and finally bought one of their mousepads. I didn't really like the images on the Buffy mousepads and they've been slightly too expensive anyway, so I bought a Bart Simpson mousepad - my souvenire. Then I ate my final London meal (ham omelette with fries) at Bruiswick Centre and also left that English As A Foreign Language brochure at the reception for Maria. She asked me the days before, I always forgot to take one with me - on my last day I didn't forget ! But actually right when I entered Compton Place for the last time, my bag broke ! Just like my new one ... but it only broke half-way. I HEARD it broke, but it still seemed alright. So I took all my stuff and headed out to King's Cross to take the tube. When I finally arrived at Victoria Coach Station (my bag was still alright it seemed), I had to wait for the next airbus for 30 minutes, but then left at 4 pm already - my plane was to leave at 7.25 pm ! So everything seemed good, but THIS IS LONDON. The streets were totally jammed and it took awfully long till we finally left London. Then apparently the motorway was also jammed - time was running ! The bus finally arrived at Stansted airport at 6.50 pm !!!!!!!! Phew, still in time, but I didn't expect to meet Michele anymore. When I went to the gate for my flight, boarding still hadn't started - not because I wasn't late, but because the boarding was late ! Accidently Michele's gate for his flight to Milano was next to mine - but I didn't see him. Strange. But right when the boarding started for our flight, I saw him. Crazy - the world is not big enough. So we had a final short chat and it turned out Michele also took the bus, although he intented taking the train. He arrived just 10 minutes later than me, so he must have caught the following bus. Weird. I then got on the plane and arrived save and secure in Nuremberg. Everything went fine in the end, but it's been a very adventurous day ... actually the last two days have been ! And then I also went to that LAN in Germany the a few hours later ... the world really isn't that big ... at least Europe is not ! And you can do many things withing a few hours, travel many miles, experience a lot of things ... days like these rule, but in everyday life, you don't have that - no matter if it's everyday life in your small hometown or everyday life in London. The end ...
